Mövenpick Malatya Hotel 5 stars

Room did not have cooling even enabled. Customer service and staff lied about it when I even shared pictures of the thermostat showing that heating was the only thing that would turn on and the staff even acknowledged it when we were there. Nobody asked us about our experience as we checked out. They literally took my name and got busy with other customers and then that same staff told the customer service email that I explicitly told them on Checkout that I was "satisfied about all my complaints". I mean I know the staff in the hotel is scared of such feedback but to tell blatant lies, reflects on how ALL brand runs their properties. Abysmal.

Luxurious hotel in the city of Malatya. Furniture decent and rooms have high ceilings. Very comfortable, you can have a good decent sleep. Since it’s a tower, views are very nice. Location is great near a mall and the main outgoing area of the city. There is an underground parking and a supermarket underneath the hotel. Car parking is spacious. Things to improve: - Some rooms smell like smoking or humidity, need to air them regularly. - Staff lacking basic English and are generally unfriendly towards tourists, it feels like we are forcing them to offer the basic Accor service. Management should pay attention for training them. If a tourist comes all the way here, then at least be friendly and hospitable. If a tourist does not know some Turkish words, then it will be very hard to communicate making the experience unpleasant. - We booked 2 rooms. Staff simply at reception didn’t understand that we need connecting rooms or at least 2 adjacent rooms. After explaining, the rooms were given were apart from each other. The excuse that the hotel is overbooked. Although clearly when checking the app, there were rooms available. - Food at breakfast not the level of 5 stars. Many plates are from days ago (old annd not fresh). Apart from eggs, no extras are there (pancakes, waffles, etc). Bread seems not fresh. Coffee machine terrible (buy a new one!). Staff again no English whatsoever. - Lobby is small, basically a corridor with a couple of seating arrangements.

Great breakfast. Desk staff speak English & can help with questions or requests.

We are not alcoholic, but the flexibility to choose is critical for brand image. For business dinners we have to get to Melid to have a proper meal.
