Spacious room but lacking cutlery and plates

Room was spacious but outdated. Only had two cups and two spoons, if you were in need of anything else you had to get it at reception which was inconvenient. The double bed was just two single beds pushed together. The staff and the view was nice but could still not justify the steep price tag.

It was unfortunate that the hotel air conditioning was not functioning on such a hot humid evening. However, Staff handled the situation well and we have no complaint in this regard. What we did find disappointing was that the breakfast which on other occasions when we have stayed there was quite excellent, on this occasion was cold. eg. Bacon and mushrooms were cold. The chef cooked an egg to perfection. 😊 Might I suggest also that inclusion of marmalade to have on toast would be appreciated.

Excellent service from all staff. The room was excellent. Very clean. Thank you house keeping staff and to the reception aswell. Welldone! Comfortable room.

The room was not worth the $350.00 I paid for it The Mercure Mackay is 1000% a far better hotel and only 1/2 the price , I will not be using the Mercure Rockhampton ever again
