I’ll start out by saying this hotel is truly one of the most beautiful architectural marvels I have ever seen. The attention to detail of the interior design is incredible. The artistic style is a pleasure to the eyes and exudes elegance at every glance. The experience at the pool is first class, the views from the hotel are first class and the ambience is first class. Unfortunately, the quality and beauty of the building is met with extremely underwhelming service leaving my experience with a soulless feel. The staff at a hotel are the heart of the experience and it was very apparent that the staff achieved delivering a forgettable stay in my eyes. - Reception (2/5): to our surprise our room was not ready at check in time and we got the keys to our room 1 hour and 45 minutes into waiting in the lobby. We were met with apologies and a promise of a hotel tour while we waited. The tour never happened. We were told the hotel is severely understaffed and underfunded. Two points that should never be shared with a paying customer. Dining (1/5): what an absolute abysmal and underwhelming experience. Our simple dietary restrictions were met with “we recommend you not to order anything from our menu.” I could not believe my ears. We tried to contact another hotel restaurant and we were informed that they need to ask the chef and get back to us. No response. We ended up dining at other restaurants in Lusail. Breakfast was also met with “sorry we do not have the ingredients to cater to your diet.” Fantastic. Moreover, the quality and taste of the breakfast items were not good. Did not feel luxurious. Getting around the hotel (1/5): since our promised tour never happened we found ourselves asking staff where different locations were so we can go enjoy them. Often times the staff were not interested in even helping until we told them we are staying at the hotel. When they figured out that we are staying they tried cleaning up their act but it was too little too late. The Spa (3/5): the facilities are world class just like the rest of the hotel. The staff were not. During our couples massage my wife received a great massage yet I received the opposite. My masseuse was stumbling around the massage bed, dropping items and seemed confused overall which took every bit of relaxation out of our spa time. The massage was not good either. No symmetry, rushed and inconsistent. My back is in more discomfort now than it was before my massage. These concerns were raised to the spa reception who rudely told us that this masseuse is the most requested and best physiotherapist in the spa. Sounded like “you didn’t enjoy it? Your problem.” Their recovery was to gift some face creams which we really did not want. Abysmal. Room service (2/5): asking for the room to be cleaned and returning twice to your messy room isn’t what is expected from a 6 star hotel. Turn down service was not the same each night. Inconsistent. Overall, while the staff seem to be very unprofessional and unhappy with their jobs this hotel has immense potential. I hope to see it become what is was built to be one day. For now I am disappointed with the overall experience.

Brand Overrated With Poor Service

Well the property is well designed and to the extent of any 5 starts Luxury Hotel. However, the service is poor and not to the standard. Being a diamond member, amenity where missed and used. The butler service is just a label, in nutshell it’s as good as calling room service in any hotel. The timing was poor to deliver whatever is requested, it took 1 and half hour to deliver coffee cups !
