Amazing, except…

We had a wonderful stay, from the moment our track pulled up and Fred greeted us, taking our bags for us and directing us into the reception, we felt at home. Abdul who helped us check in was wonderful. He explained everything about the hotel and showed us to our suite, answering every single question and request with professionalism and humour. We had the same experience with every member kids staff we spoke to, and loved every second of our stay. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous, the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Everything about it was amazing, and the complimentary red velvet cake was the cherry on the top! I only have one complaint from the whole experience, and that was with the room service. We ordered three cocktails and 2 karakh, and it took more than 45 minutes to be delivered - to the point where I had to call again to make sure they had received the order and it was coming! However, in the grand scheme of things this was only a minor complaint and couldn’t spoil the magical experience of staying here.

The hotel had great staff, beautifully appointed rooms, amazing food and wonderful views. The only side where there needs to be improvement is in the 1% actions. The best experience I've had at a hotel is by far at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai. The little things that the Raffles could do to improve are 1) The butler service needs to be more proactive in contacting suite guests to see if they need anything, to offer them services, give them hints & tips on what to do in the city, advise them what is happening in the city etc - the butler never made contact with me other than me reaching out to them 2) When I arrive there were 3 dates and 3 pieces of small chocolate in the suite - for one of the signature suites, I would have expected something a little more grand. Further, when I stayed in a suite at the Atlantis, on a daily basis the butler would provide us with sweet and savoury treats, flowers etc to make our stay special. You see, these aren't major things but they are the 1%ers that can take your hotel to the highest level. If I go back to Dubai, I'd stay at the Atlantis the Royal without thinking, coming back to Doha I will most likely try other hotels to see if they can match that experience over the Raffles.

Stunningly beautiful hotel but poor service

The hotel is beautiful, but I got there and many things didn’t work in my room: wifi, ipad (which was necessary to do almost anything), etc. They eventually upgraded my room, which I did appreciate. But the service at the hotel is very poor. The staff just doesn’t seem to care. And the whole private butler thing is a total scam. I saw my “butler” once, when I checked in. That was it. The real problem with this is there is no concierge, no housekeeping, nothing. All gone and supposedly replaced by the butler, but wasn’t the case. The ironic thing was that when I arrived, a staff member asked if my trip from the airport was easy. I said, “I didn’t come from the airport. I was at another hotel in Doha.” They asked which one and I said the Four Seasons. This staff member said I would be much happier at Raffles as the Four Seasons is “old and tired.” Well, at the Four Seasons everything works, everyone knows your name and people care. I will be back to Doha but will be staying at The Four Seasons, not pretentious Raffles.
