Location is good, view of pool is good. However, the room is old and had several problems during my stay. (i) for the first 2 nights out of my 4 night stay, a large area of floor was wet. The hotel sent some one to fix it (he said it was caused by air conditioner issue), but the floor was still wet after he left. I had to sleep in a very humid, presumably unhealthy air for the night and very uncomfortable. I reported the issue again, and the problem was fixed on my third day. (ii) the hotel only has one restaurant with limited food choice and very expensive price. We went to the nearby Kempinski twice to have meals and found they have 3 restaurauts with more menu choices, good quality food and at a much lower price than Movenpick. (iii) when I checked in, I found the bath tub had some spots looked like stains and a hair. The safe box didn't work either. The air conditioner temperature adjustment didn't work. I called the hotel, they came and fixed the safe box, adjusted the temperature to a warmer degree, but not the bath tub. I later realized the bath tub "stain" was like small cuts so not removable, but it looks a bit disgusting. (iv) I checked in the morning around 10 and was asked to pay one extra full day for the room. My colleague then talked to the hotel staff and he agreed that we pay an extra half day rate and that extra half day rate will also cover the late check out (until 6pm) on the day of our departure (since we have a late night flight back to the US.). However, when we checked out, we were told to pay an extra half day for early check in and another extra half day for late check out. The hotel staff insisted on this despite we telling them what we agreed with the hotel when we checked in. The hotel staff insisted that normally Movenpick would charge an extra full day rate for morning check in, which really didn't sound reasonable. Movenpick is a World Bank contracted hotel and we booked it through World Bank travel service. We were not informed that Movenpick would charge extra day for a morning check in. Also most of the hotels we stayed in would give some flexibilities for regular customers such World Bank staff who travels often (I myself stayed in Movenpick more than 10 years ago when I traveled to here). Anyway, not a fully satisfactory experience this time.
