booked a room with "a serene terrace for tranquil Lake Tekapo views" - our room faced directly onto a car park, even without the cars it was impossible to see the lake. The only daylight came from patio doors which fronted the car park - no privacy at all. The serene terrace was a bit of decking with protruding nail heads, a large loose nail at one side, and a split piece of rotting timber above. When I queried the lack of a lake view with reception I was told that booking a lake view was no guarantee of getting one!

Very spacious, clean and well appointed 1 bed villa. Amazing views over the lake with a balcony to sit on. Was only there one quick night stop so didn't get to enjoy any of the facilities
