Booked a 3bdr villa for 5 people but to our surprise there were only beds for 4 people and 2 bedrooms. A third bedroom door was locked and unaccesible. We had to call the after hours number to ask them to open the door for us, waited about 30 min for someone to come. Aside from that all went well and the place was clean and comfortable

We should have received an email with instructions on accessing the key from the lock box for arriving after reception was closed. We received no communication to this effect and only saw the posted signs with instructions for calling a certain number when we arrived. The phone near reception didn't connect our call. Luckily, one of us (traveling internationally) had an e-sim with the ability to make calls and we eventually got through and were able to get our key. The unit seemed nice at first with heated floors and heat pads on some beds. One of the heating pads didn't work and one bed didn't have any. We discovered some hair in the bathrooms and small hairs on the sheets and pillows. At least one of the toilets hadn't been fully cleaned. The heated floors in the bathrooms were nice and we wanted to like the place but the poor communication and problems with cleanliness mean we wouldn't be likely to stay here again or to recommend it to others.

I was informed at check-in that despite full book a complimentary upgrade could be available. However, when I checked it, I noticed the apartment that was given was an upgraded version where a master ensuite with a secondary bathroom is provided. However, after settling in, the experience quickly went downhill. Our luggage had been allocated to each room. I then went out briefly to explore Lake Tekapo. Upon returning, I discovered that the luggage from the master bedroom had been moved out and the master bedroom itself was locked, without any notification or explanation. I immediately contacted reception and was told they would investigate and respond within 10 minutes. After waiting over 20 minutes with no update, I had to call again. At that point, I was informed that the master bedroom would be opened. Unfortunately, the master bedroom was never opened, and no further follow-up or explanation was provided. This was a very disappointing experience.
