Room was enormous, with washing machine and dryer included in the room we had. Beds are comfy, however no daily service so you need to ask for fresh towels if/when required. Location is very central with around a 5-minute walk to Salamanca wharf area.

I sent an email as after hours check in is in breach of privacy. Our friend and us had to check in virtually on the road and call out our credit card details in full before we could get code for lock box. A guy was seated outside and said he didn’t quite catch the last digit of my credit card and he had a pen to show me that he was trying. Even if we had used a mobile it would be safer than loudly calling out details to a box. Also no cleaning if staying 6 days is shocking. Because office shuts early and opens after we went out, we couldn’t get extra towels etc. Girl at front desk lovely and helpful.

Dear Meri, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your stay. I apologise if there was a misunderstanding on the after-hours procedure. As mentioned on the sign outside the hotel, you are able to either use the intercom or call via mobile to do the after-hours check-in process. I believe this was also explained in your pre-arrival call. I appreciate your feedback regarding these processes. I will investigate alternatives to ensure guests feel safe and their privacy upheld. Regarding the cleaning of the room, here at Mantra One we do not do daily housekeeping services, rather for guests staying a week or more they receive a weekly service. We do advertise this both on our website and confirmation letters so that guests are aware. While reception does have shorter opening hours over the weekends (9am-5pm) we are always accessible via phone, and are happy to drop off any amenities or remove rubbish even while you are out if asked. On arrival it was dark inside as three light bulbs needed replacing which they managed two. No room service so you needed to go to the reception everyday and request tea and coffee pods. The bathroom smells of drainage as the basin faucet was clogged with black sludge from hair. In fairness the room was spacious but the layout was wrong as you don’t use the lounge much as it looked out at a brick wall. The TV was small considering the space. The staff were helpful and appreciated our feedback re the lights and refreshments but you don’t get a daily room service so a 5 night stay pushed the towel changing to the max.
