APPALLING. There is a scammer in this building whom rents room out to people via booking.com. This person is ruining people’s lives. I drove to Queensland all the way from Newcastle and to come to a hotel that I was not staying at because of a low life, made it a very difficult time away. Staff have no concern, be very careful when booking.

The budget Mantra, a mixed bag but unsuitable for families with younger kids

The Mantra on View is a mixed bag - some good, some not. We stayed for a week in late Dec 2024, room 1921. The room was worn looking in places, but was clean. There were lots of drawers and cupboards, some of which did not close properly. Hanging space was good, with bag shelves. A bar-type fridge worked well. Central air-con seemed to work, but struggled in the high humidity. It never felt very cool. There was no fan. The bed was good, just right for us. There was no microwave in the room, only 2 such situated off the lobby. Odd. Hot water was plentiful and VERY hot. Take care with kids. The shower wets the floor, but was good. Other reviews criticise the bathrooms, but ours was quite OK, without looking new. A small balcony had 2 chairs and a table, with a great view to the north. The railing was strong. Hotel location is central, near to a tram stop and the beach. That was good, because the hotel HAS NO swim pool, only 3 spa-type tubs. It also had no dinner restaurant, only breakfast, but that could change. Anyhow, there are many cafes and restaurants in the district. The lobby is plain but expansive, and we thought it might have been much grander at one time. All in all, we would call this a budget big hotel, the nominated no-frills Mantra among the 8 of them on the Gold Coast. Put into context it is good room value compared to any other hotels there, but definitely unsuitable for families with younger kids, because of the lack of any proper larger swimming pool .

This is not a 4 star hotel. Wheelie bins in Hall way, overflowing Paint missing off walls cracked sink Mould growing under silicone and bath tub lip Stained bath with sand in bath Stains on carpet. Very noticeable red wine and unknown Stains on curtains. Like chocolate hand prints and blood Timber work is all swollen from moisture, scratches on walls. Paint missing off walls All wall hung lights loose Hand rail on balcony worn out Beds uncomfortable Spas not spas. Just plunge pools. Rubbish viewed from room Value for money not there is

Carpet in rooms had multiple stains. Carpark access is not mobility friendly

We stayed here for one night visiting from Brisbane. It is right in the middle of surfers and we stayed towards the end of the schoolies break. There is no clear signage for parking which we prepaid for, when I asked the staff they said there’s two carpark entries. Once we checked in and parked in carpark there is no lift that takes you to the lobby so we had to carry our suitcases up steep stairs. Wouldn’t suit people with heavy luggage, wheelchairs or strollers. The room is simple and needs an update. TV is huge and you can stream from your phone though the wifi is patchy. Very basic amenities and the carpet had multiple stains under the bed and also in front of the fridge. Needs a proper clean. Not very sound proof as can hear noise from the hallway. This hotel needs a proper scrub clean and better lift access from the carpark.

Great location and helpful staff. Close to beach and night life. The location enables you to have a variety of experiences. Plung pools at he hotel are fine. Being able to park out front to check in and take bags to the room was convienient. Parking under the hotel seemed safe.
