We booked a family trip staying in a room for four adults and two children. We had stayed at Chevron towers 13 years ago and were so impressed with the rooms and service back then, that we decided to book again. We were pleased that we were given a room on the 34th floor which provided an excellent view of the beach, the surrounding hotels and even the waterways behind the hotel. It was a pleasure walking onto the balcony every morning to watch the sunrise. While the space in the overall room was very good and suited my big family it seemed that the overall look and maintenance of the facilities were dated and some instances faulty. One of the first things we noticed was the TV was an old LG plasma screen. It was not a smart tv and had a faulty HDMI input jack on the side. The main toilet would not stop flushing. We contacted reception for assistance at 2.00pm and they said they would inform maintenance. The manager then arrived at 4.00pm because maintenance had left early and she was acting on phone instructions from the maintenance to get it fixed. It was a temporary fix - I watched her pull a plastic part inside the tank part etc and it started to work. The rooms were ok but also needed some work. Firstly, the beds the mattresses were cheap. We expected more from a high-quality hotel. The curtains were falling apart in some of the rooms. Shards of light were beaming through the wear and tear of old curtains. Some of the hooks were holding shreds of the lining of some of the curtain. Bathrooms were also old and needed some work. Tiles and even parts of the mirror needed replacing or repair. The living area was a nice space but looked dated and in need of repair. The kitchen bench was a good size - the side wood panel was stained. The chair on the round table had torn fake leather bits on the seat. It wasn't a good look. My family absolutely enjoyed swimming in the pool. The location of the hotel was fantastic. We loved going for walks and choosing a new restaurant each night. The people down-stairs were helpful with booking theme parks. One of my older boys also liked the Gym and made use of it everyday. We looked forward to using the pool everyday and eating out every night. The rooms were ok. We enjoyed our stay but wished it would have updated rooms and facilities.

Worst experience ever . Never thought a accident of falling key in been loop hole would cost be my bond. Rooms furniture stank and everything needed re washing . Found hair in beef which means covers were not changed.

On first entering the lobby you are struck by an overwhelming lemon grass scent that will want to make you hold your breath, and makes you ponder how bad must the smell this is hiding be to require such a powerfully obnoxious covering agent, our room wasn't ready at check-in time or by the time we were told to come back, but the staff were courteous and polite. Our room was not as clean as you would expect to find accommodation, there was dust, dirt, old water bottle under the couch, but not too bad. The furniture had seen far better days, every item was battered, scratched, torn and damaged, barely managing to complete the function for which it was once designed. In the lounge room, the couches were like sitting on wooden boards in some sections and bean bags in others, they were also torn. The coffee table had chunks out of it and a large hole drilled right through it, their were tears on the kitchen chairs, and the smallest non smart-TV I have seen in an apartment for some time. The kitchen was adequate but lacked the basic things you would need to make a meal, no tongs, salt, oil etc. and there were no ice trays. We were provided with half a sponge (literally had been cut in half), and some small sachets of powder/detergent which were not enough to get by, the front desk did provide more. In the bedrooms, the beds were rock hard and mattresses had no toppers, my wife is still complaining of lower back pain since sleeping on that bed, which she has never had before. The curtains were barely hanging on and one set fell down when we were closing them as only one and a half clips were still holding the rail to the ceiling (maintenance fixed this the following day after a couple of follow-ups). The lamp shades look as though they've survived a pillow fight. The bathroom did not fair much better, tiles cracked, stone vanity top cracked in half, the button to switch the bath shower from the shower head to the bath spout was broken and missing. There was again not enough toilet paper (2 rolls) for an 8 day stay for 4 people (again the staff at the front counter provided more on request). The water pressure was amazing, that was excellent. The views were amazing, wrapping around the building we had incredible views of the mountain range and the river and well as some ocean views between the buildings, it was really beautiful. The hotel facilities itself, the signage is poor, it's difficult to navigate coming out of lifts and finding your way to the indoor pool/gymnasium, some documentation provided had contradictory information as to what level some facilities were on. The spa was not working and cordoned off at the main lagoon pool and I saw some of the BBQ's were not working. The kids playground was small, but the kids did enjoy it. The gardens & grassed areas were immaculate. Overall we really enjoyed our stay as we spend most of the time away from our room enjoying activities, and we were just happy to have a well positioned base of operations at an almost reasonable price for our stay.

Nothing more than a great view - avoid this one.

In early January, we rented apartment CR2305 in the Chevron Renaissance North Tower, through Our key collection and the apartment contact was through Holiday Rentals Surfers Paradise (HRSP). The key collection was after hours due to our arrival time, this went smoothly. We located the building, allocated carpark and apartment easily, as per the HRSP instructions. We paid NZD800 per night for four nights. We recommend you do not do the same. Surfers Paradise is tired and dodgy, but was unfortunately the location we had to be in for an event we attended. HRSP recommended taking photographs of the apartment to ensure you can “leave it in the same condition you found it in”. We actually ended up taking photos of it and sending to HRSP to show them how unclean it was! See photos to view some examples of the concerns I raise below. On the topic of photos, the ones posted for CR2305 on are NOT what the apartment looks like. The dining table and chairs are now old and tired, seats are collapsed so you can’t sit at the table at the right height to eat. The couch may be the same but it has grubby old cushions on it, not those in the photos. The bed covers are not the same, the one in the main bedroom now has a grotty old blue polyester blanket. When we sent the photo of the fridge with filthy door channel, HRSP came back to me saying: “with the fridge it is just a matter of it being a bit dated. It works extremely well and it has been thoroughly cleaned, it is just discoloured in some areas due to age. Our housekeeping manager assured me it was all properly cleaned yesterday before you checked in”. I sent the after photo, showing the same part of the fridge I cleaned which clearly show it WAS a matter of not being cleaned, and received no response. The bathroom sinks don’t drain (plumber came to fix this and toilet cistern that ran continually. Both were fixed but on Day 3, both issues returned). The appliances are old, and not clean (toaster, kettle). We all know how cheaply these can be bought – why not spend some of that rental and do it? The ironing board had old food on it, the iron base was filthy – neither were usable. The clothing rack was rusty – couldn’t use it. Lid of the laundry powder receptacle in the washing machine was full of old powder – so easy to clean, so yet another thing the housekeeping manager missed when “properly cleaning” the apartment. The TV is a joke – the screen is entirely purple. Wifi – significant trouble connecting and the link texted to us by the property manager didn’t work. The couch is like something out of a student flat (sorry students!), with old food debris between the cushions, the rug is old and grubby, the whole apartment needs a thorough and PROFESSIONAL clean – door handles, light switches etc etc. With notices etc all around the building pertaining to keeping hygienic standards and practice as per Covid health standards, this outfit definitely does not practice what it preaches. We are certainly aware places age, but they can still be clean. This one is not, and to have been rebuffed by HRSP when we tried to draw their attention to it, is very disappointing, Avoid!!

Great location, stunning views and very spacious apartment.We spent 5 nights with my family of 5 and we had so much fun swimming in the lagoon pool along with their indoor pool & spa.The apartment is well equipped with cooking utensils and dinning accessories.Walking distance to Coles and Woolworths and right on the heart of Surfers Paradise with less than 10mins walk to the beach.
