I have stayed in a lot of places all over the world and this hotel is worse than most highway motels, and by a long way. The pictures are real and what’s not shown is the you could not use the wardrobe as the doors were broken and would not open but the smell…. My god we were nauseous being there for 10mins. We were changed to a different room and it was worse!!! Needless to say we booked another hotel block away and left as fast as we could.

We regret that moving you to an alternative room did not resolve the situation and understand completely why you chose to leave. This is not the impression we want any guest to have, especially those who have travelled extensively and have clear expectations of comfort and cleanliness. Mantra on View is perfectly situated in the heart of Surfers Paradise. One of its best features is the location; it is only a short walk to the beach, yet just far enough from the primary "strip" to avoid the overwhelming noise and crowds. It offers the perfect balance of being central without feeling chaotic. The accommodations were impressive. Our room was very spacious and featured two comfortable double beds, which is a plus for travelers needing extra space. • The View: The balcony provided an outstanding panorama, combining the city skyline with the ocean. Pro tip: Aim for a room on a higher floor to get the best possible vantage point. • Housekeeping: I was particularly impressed with the housekeeping staff. They were excellent, keeping the room pristine throughout our stay. The only major disappointment was the buffet breakfast. For a hotel of this size and caliber, the quality was surprisingly poor. While the selection was standard, the food lacked any real taste or finesse. • The Egg Station: The live omelet section was unfortunately terrible. The chef seemed disinterested, serving burnt and tasteless eggs. • The Highlight: The only saving grace for breakfast was the barista. Though it requires an extra payment, the coffee and hot chocolates were high quality and much better than the buffet offerings. I would definitely stay here again for the rooms and the location, but I’ll be heading to a local cafe for breakfast next time!

Dodgiest hotel on Gold Coast

This is the dodgiest hotel I have ever stayed in. I booked a room for three people at almost $500 per night, yet was given a room with only one bed. The hotel then blamed me, claiming I had booked the wrong room. Since when is a customer expected to know every room layout? Isn’t it the hotel’s responsibility to provide accommodation that actually fits the number of guests selected at booking? The room listing showed photos that clearly did not match the room I was given. When questioned, staff dismissed this by saying the images were “probably just photos, not the actual room,” which is misleading at best. To make matters worse, the duty manager had no understanding of the complaint or escalation process and offered no meaningful assistance. Overall, the experience was unacceptable and beyond ridiculous.

Our King rooms do have a capacity of up to 3 people, with the third provided a rollaway bed. Our team has verified that all booking websites state the room includes 1x King Bed. Our website will include a variety of images on our "Property Photos" as this section gives our guests a general idea of the property, our facilities and the standard of our rooms. When selecting your desired room, you will be shown images of the room type. Upon arrival, the room provided was the same as the room which had been reserved, a King room. Our team offered to provide a rollaway bed for your additional guest as standard operating procedure. Due to the capacity of the hotel during the Christmas/New Years period, our team were unable to find any twin rooms upon your request. We apologise that our service team did not meet your expectations and we will escalate this with our upper management team. Food was great not too many vegetarian options but it’s understandable I had some waffles with syrup as well as yoghurt with pineapples and they were great the fruit was fresh.

Breakfast bliss

Excellent breakfast. Fabulous coffee on arrival. The variety to eat at breakfast is excellent, from fresh sliced fruit to hot selections of curries and scrambled eggs. We also ordered poached eggs as we’re revelling in watching the chef at work. My favourite dish this week is the beef curry. My husband loved the bacon. Stayed five nights. Staff fantastic.
