We were a family of 4 and stayed in the family room. We were upgraded to the superior room. The room had everything you needed, although some extra storage in the seperate room would have been useful. The pool area was great and the temperature of the pool was perfect for a swim. Cocktails for our evening drink in the bar area were very tasty and the free kids milkshakes went down a treat. All staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a slight issue with some food we ordered, this was handled professionally and resolved quickly. For the price you pay this hotel has everything you could need and more.

Accor was a big disappointment. I am an Accor member and stayed overnight at Novotel Surfers Paradise on the 7th October for my birthday. We chose Novotel over a few other choices due to earlier check in (2pm) and there was a hot tub. Upon checking in, our room wasn’t ready until 3.15pm so we used the pool facilities whilst waiting. There were long delays at check in (3 times) and the bar on lower level. The hot tub jets have been filled in with concrete. Although carpets etc are old, the rooms are average with good views. The lifts are lengthy delays. After dinner, I went to make a coffee and obviously the last quest took ALL amenities and housekeeping didn’t replace anything. I tried for 20 minutes to contact housekeeping, front desk etc and in the end, I had to call the hotel on my mobile. I love to share my experiences especially good, as most people only complain. I really can’t say I have been impressed with the customer service and expectations of the Accor group. This was very disappointing, and I felt the need to give my feed back and I could have received better value for my money elsewhere. Loyalty doesn’t pay off and not one person in management has acknowledged my emails and feedback. Thank you Patsy Mason Get Outlook for iOS

Worst customer service and room ambience

Novotel rooms are old and in bad shape. The carpet is old, had a big hole and stains everywhere. My room always smelled like a cement. Service here was worst. Staff denied me to provide packaged drinking water saying they don't provide that service. On enquiring with Loyalty manager Lorrain, she was shocked and apologized for this appalling service. I also had an extremely disappointing check-in experience with a receptionist named Aleksander. After traveling a long distance, I arrived to check in but didn’t have my physical credit card with me to pay deposit—only a digital version in my mobile wallet. Despite my situation, Aleksander refused to check me in and insisted asked to go get cash, even though I had a lot of luggage with me. My room was prepaid and never in my life have encountered a hotel denying me check-in just because I don't have physical card for deposit. When I asked if I could check in and then retrieve the cash, he rudely refused and unprofessionally remarked that I was the first customer without a card. After a long day of travel, I was not expecting such poor treatment. I’m a business traveler and every week I’m in one or other city in Australia, but staff at all hotels were very cooperative and didn’t ask me to go get cash with all my luggage. Another pending issue is about parking ticket, and I had to chased them about its refund which was mentioned by Aleksander as processed but never received it. On 2nd Oct 2024, I called them again and must talk to another untrained and rude staff called Mandy who went on transferring my call to wrong departments and later calling again couldn't solve my problem but rudely mentioned that they are all occupied and busy. Based on this experience, I will be giving the lowest rating and seek for proper enquiry and training for sure unskilled staff. And in addition to that I escalated this issue in my company (which is a Public Ltd company), and they are in process to blacklist Novotel and all other Accor properties for these low-class services.

Have stayed here a few times now however I feel that this experience was not as good unfortunately. Check in was fine, allocated a room up in floor 33. Room itself is fine but bathroom is size of a shoebox with shower over tub. Great hinterland views! Pool area was good. However on our last morning there was a lot of manoeuvring of pot plants around the place as there is a lot of works happening on building. During our stay there was also set up of extra lights etc in pool area. When I spoke to a staffer I was told that there was going to be things happening at pool next week for school holidays (BBQs etc). I replied that Qld is already on school holidays and received a reply akin to that everything was left to the last minute. Such a shame as I know personally this week for my family spent almost $1000 on meals at Surfers but only about $150 of that was at Novotel simply because of the limited BLVD menu. I much rather would have preferred to be having meals poolside day and night! I mentioned earlier that there are a lot of works taking place. Well prior to arrival I received an email to do a 5pm late check out for $75 which I did. Had I known the noise we were to encounter on our last day 33 floors up, I wouldn’t have done so! I hate to say we actually felt a bit ripped off by that (I will try and upload clip). Breakfast has all the usual good gear however some cold ham, cheese etc for DIY toasties would be great. Given the Sporting Globe is now open, a door with swipe (like at pool area) would be awesome near the buffet entry to allow for easy access to this venue in the complex. So, a bit of a mixed bag this time. We will return at some stage hopefully for a more fulfilling stay.

We specifically booked a room with a sea view, I asked when we checked in that this is what we were getting. We were very disappointed to be told that it wasn’t available due to a maintenance problem but we would be moved to a room with a sea view the next day. The room we were given was adequate but very noisy as it faced the Main Street so we had a poor nights sleep. The next morning we packed our cases and went to reception to change rooms, I overheard the staff discussing that we were not the only ones in this situation. We had to leave our luggage with them and were told we would get the room we had paid for but had to wait until after 2pm ( check out time). The new room was fine, on the 22nd floor and after about 10.30pm reasonably quiet. The hotel is having an external upgrade so part of the external area was shut off. The pool area was small and needs some work. We used the sun beds around the pool but not the pool itself as whenever we were there it was very full of, and completely taken over by small children. The hotel is in a central location in Surfers Paradise and we found it easy to walk to all the attractions we wanted to visit.
