Travelled with the family. location is very convenient for transport, shops and the beach. Room was okay but can be improved.

Lovely mini staycation

Currently at this hotel and deliberately choose a Sunday night for a mini staycation thinking it would be less noisy. Needed this stay to reach platinum status. Can honestly say there is nothing wrong with this hotel, except maybe the balcony doors let in a bit too much noise, even on level 31. Priority check in was busy but moved efficiently and our room was available at 12.30pm which was great. Ocean view executive room was newly renovated and very comfortable with complimentary mini bar. All staff we encountered at reception and in the cafe were wonderfully hospitable and friendly. Elevators were fast and efficient. Haven’t been in surfers paradise for quite a while and it was a lovely stay. Would

Very disappointing stay

I’ve been staying at this Hotel regularly since 2017. I’ve enjoyed watching the renovations unfold and I thought on my most recent visit I would have the same elevated and enjoyable experience. The room I booked was a deluxe King and I received an ‘upgrade’ to an Ocean facing room. The first room I was given I immediately went downstairs and asked to swap as it still had the same dusty carpet from the Marriott days and did not appear to be renovated. I was then given another room on a higher floor with new vinyl flooring but not much else. It was in poor condition not very clean and with unrepaired damage to the bench where the kettle sits. This really should be sitting on a tray or something and I’m not sure whether having it sitting directly under the TV is a good idea. The staff were lovely, the bed was comfy but this stay just feels a bit off. The breakfast room is still very unwelcoming and looks like a school canteen but the food is quite good. The downstairs bar is ok with a limited selection of food and a good Happy Hour from 3-5. The view was amazing. The pool was closed during the weekdays of our stay due to renovations and painting happening on the exterior of the building . I may return for the right price but this was quite a disappointing and underwhelming stay in a Hotel that I used to really enjoy visiting. The cleanliness seems to have really dropped off and the bathroom had no amenities at all provided . Dirty chipped and stained mug provided in room.

Located in the heart of Surfers with everything at your door. Currently undergoing renovations but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Rooms were clean and spacious, comfy beds even for those with a bad back. Only critic is they should have more designated parking for hotel guests.

Great room - mixed experience

We stayed one night in a family room on level 34, which was excellent, spacious and comfortable with amazing views. The exterior painting progress is looking good too and the building will a colourful aspect to the Surfers Paradise cityscape upon completion. The pool area is currently being worked on, which i understand is for improvements, but it does feel like it’s been going on for quite a long time. Unfortunately, the gym was closed during our stay which was disappointing. On top of that, the lift to the basement carpark was broken, so we had to wheel our luggage cart through the shopping centre and down to the carpark. While staff offered the option of driving around to concierge, it really wasn’t worth the hassle as it is quite an extensive loop around the block once leaving the Paradise Centre carpark (fyi the disclosed ‘staff shortages’ are something that really shouldn’t be discussed with guests). The low point was the check-in experience with a young female staff member at the desk. Sadly, this was probably the poorest customer service I’ve encountered in all my stays here…….some retraining in guest interaction and communication would go a long way. A shame, as the rest of the team we came across were polite and helpful. All in all, the room was excellent, but a few service and facilities issues made the experience a bit mixed this time around.
