Generally an okay stay but had a frustrating experience waiting at the bar

Generally the staff were quite good and the room was fine. On our first night we arrived at the bar slightly before the end of happy hour and queued up at 5.55pm. There was only one party if 2 ahead of us, but we didn’t get served until 6.03pm and we weren’t allowed to order from the happy hour menu. I do understand that it had technically ended, but we were in line and waiting to order 5 minutes before the end of happy hour. It took 8 minutes for our order to be taken, which is quite a long time to wait at a bar. The lady who did take our order eventually seemed to look over at another man (who was also working behind the bar) to see if it could be allowed, but he shook his head no. I understand this might seem like a small incident, but it was super irritating that we had to wait so long just to place our order and missed out because the party ahead of us took 8 minutes to order.

Resort pool was great. Garden was well taken care of. Comfortable bed. Really good food - rissoto of the day (beetroot was heavenly). Taxi ordering was easy by a press of a button in reception and arives quickly.

Our charter fishing trip was cancelled due to a major mechanical failure 10 days out from the charter date. I tried to cancel our accommodation 8 days before the date but was told I needed 30 days notice. And no other options were offered. And as the booking was under my name I could not give or I sell the booking as I had to be there to sign in. Disappointed there was no flexibility. 30 days notice seems excessive. And consequently I lost $500.
