We stayed for two nights at South Bank Mantra Brisbane. Hotel is looking very tired and in need of a refurbishment. We booked a Studio Room for 2 people. Location is wonderful with lots of things to do and food options at all hours of the day. Room was very quiet even though we were on a busy street. Bed needs to be updated. Overall its a bit pricey for the quality of hotel.

The room was barely clean; the lounge looked like something from a frequented uni student share house. The balcony smelt like smoke and therefore unbearable to be on. No mini bar or items you would expect for price e.g. robe. I believe I booked a king bed room and received a queen but the website (past bookings) and email notifications do not specify detail for me to prove this claim. When I queried with the reception staff they just looked up the room number and said it was a queen. I had to point out that I was querying my booking and not the room. No one attempted to check the booking or match nightly fees to confirm and instead when I brought up my booking on Accor website it was basically inferred I was being deceptive with the remark ‘ this is a PAST booking’. I had to explain that any booking already checked in moves to past bookings!! The only positive was the location and my ability to park in the convention centre for a reduced rate.

Very old and tired

Stayed here a few years ago and nothing has changed very tired and needs refurb. Spent three days with a cockroach in our bathroom and killed others in the room. We are accor and qantas club members but still allocated a room with street view only and had requested high floor. Will try to remember not to stay here again.

The reason for my stay at Mantra Southbank was the 20th Creative Generation Show Week. Many staff and students stayed with you for this production. Every July we combine with schools from all over Queensland to perform at the Convention Centre. 2,000 students performed in the amazing production. I will try to remember to let you know the dates in July 2025 that we will be booking to stay at the Mantra. The only thing that needs some work is the parking/drop off zone in front of your hotel. CGEN created a lot of traffic jams with the 5 shows being sold out. We could not get a park outside of Mantra with people parking for up to 30 minutes or more in the 10 minute drop off zone.

Melhanna1 Couples - TripAdvisor review

The room was big enough and bed comfortable, however the room was cold and had no way of warming it up, the vanity was so tiny and the lighting dark it was not possible to do makeup. With little natural light and dull lighting in the room it was difficult. When I went to make a coffee I noticed that the electric kettle inside was very dirty and after adding water there were loose bits floating in the water. As a result I couldn’t use it. We used valet parking which was great and a necessity at this hotel without its own car park. Upon checking out the valet parked the car illegally out the front. While my husband was still putting our luggage into the car, a parking inspector told him that the parking inspector van with the camera onboard had just driven past and taken a photo of the car. She said we can be issued a parking ticket.
