Check in was quick and easy, with friendly, courteous staff. Generally, the hotel (South Bank, Brisbane) could do with a bit of a refresh - it's looking a bit tired and not everything works perfectly. We checked in at 2pm, and went out for the afternoon/evening, finally getting to bed at about midnight. But ... the sheets were wet and clammy. We tried to call guest services - no answer - went to the front counter. The attendant went straight into action, checking out other rooms and found one near ours on the same the floor, and offered to help us move (we didn't have much so we were OK). The new room was a bit better (on the river side of the building), and we were offered free breakfast the next morning. This was a very unusual experience (we have stayed at a few Mantras) and it won't put us off considering Mantra in the future.

A great location close to Streets Beach, public transport and the action of South Bank. Good sized rooms and living space. Dated and in need of update and thorough clean.
