We arrived at 6.30pm and our suite was not ready. Waited 15 min and were offered a complimentary juice at the restaurant in return. May I add that our welcome drink (as promised in the booking) was never given. We didn’t accept the juice and waited 30 min for our room. Room was great though. We had booked the suite and it was well furnished and the AC was fantastic. Large TV and the tub were good too. Went for a swim in the pool with my 5 year old. The water was cold - not a heated pool. But the worse was yet to come. They didn’t have towels. There were a few used towels here and there but no fresh towels and no one manning the pool. We waited a bit and then walked down to our room all wet and cold. Room service dinner was great. We ordered local food for us and Italian for our child and both were wonderful and had good quantity. Breakfast again was a mess. Tasteless to say the least. The waffles were rock hard, there cakes and croissants were tasteless. And there were flies all over the buffet food. Only good thing was the kesari milk shake that we had on the particular day. We had to wait 15 min for the bill (breakfast was not included) and we had to explain repeatedly to the person billing us that the buffet was 50pc off according to our room rate- he didn’t believe it and was mighty rude about it - as if we were trying to fleece the hotel. I thought these things just popped up in your computer when you enter the room number! We were also not given the 15pc discount on other F&B as per our room rate. We had to ask repeatedly and they gave it for the food. There was no mention of alcohol not included in the discount. It was strictly written F&B and nothing more. But they refused. Overall we felt this was a 3 star hotel. Service needs to improve leaps and bounds. Rooms were great. Food was a hit and miss.

It was a pleasant stay, merci! Suggestions: 1) English communication skills of some of the staff could be improved at the front desk, especially in the night shift 2) The Accor brand comes through only visually in the logo. Could the brand feel/presence for the customer be extended to the staff's way of speaking and handling guests? Par exemple, quand un client de France, Belgique ou Canada arrive a Novotel, est-ce qu'on pourrait lui saluer "Bonjour", avec un grand sourire!

People were excellent. Rooms were fantastic. Staff and house keeping were brilliant. Food, left much to be deserved. Imagine that in a calibre of this hotel, the Maggi served was a passable dish. Appams were rubbery. Other items don’t even deserve a mention. I had to buy food outside and eat. If I say worst food that’s an understatement. It’s below worst.

We enjoyed staying here! The food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only minor hitches were having to get our room key card reactivated around 3 or 4 times, and the room service got it wrong with the number of plates and cutlery sets for us couple of times. Nothing major though.
