On checking into my room, I was appalled to find used toilet paper left in the commode and cockroaches in the bathroom. That's a basic hygiene failure that should never get past housekeeping inspection. To their credit, the front desk was swift in upgrading my room once I raised the issue. However, the incident set the tone for the rest of my stay, and the facility overall seemed poorly managed. The swimming pool has a lot of damaged tiles with sharp, exposed edges. This isn't just cosmetic; it's a genuine safety hazard, particularly for children and elderly guests, and needs urgent attention. At the bar, the attendant was not pouring drinks to measure, which is disappointing when you're paying premium prices. Service was another letdown. Apart from a few courteous and genuinely helpful staff members, most of the staff I interacted with displayed poor etiquette, unbecoming of a hotel of this standard. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. The property has potential, but housekeeping standards, maintenance and staff training need significant improvement before it lives up to the Novotel name.

Rating 5 -6/10. Because: 1. Poorly maintained pool with tiles at edges broken 2. It has been shown a sun deck bar at the terrace. However, actually no such restaurant or bar is available near the pool. Infact the photographs of sundeck bar was the reason to book this hotel. 3. The bar is very small and hardly anyone come there with highly expensive drinks. For ex., we had 3 bottles of beer for which MRP is labelled as ₹90 and the bill was ₹450 per bottle which may not be a big amount i. 5 star, but still based on the ambience, it was not worth. Bar staff was also not available at first. The rooms, lift, corridors were kept tidy and staff was also okay.

I would like to mention one issue i faced during the stay. I have booked two rooms and in both rooms from bathroom shower mild hot water is coming even if we choose cold water option.I had complained it during my stay and technician told they need to check everything and if required they are ready to change my room. But i did not choose changing room because i dont want to shift all luggage s again. I have faced the same issue in my previous stay in your hotel 5 months before. So please look into the matter and do the needful

I have been a regular guest at Novotel Kakkanad for many years, and my latest stay was another reminder of why I keep returning: the exceptional staff and their warm hospitality. I was due to check in on 8 September, but my flight arrived at 2:30 am on the 9th, and I only reached the hotel around 4 am. After such a tiring journey, it was a tremendous relief to find the front desk team expecting me, with my room ready and a warm welcome despite the early hour. A special mention goes to Hunaif at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and made both check-in and check-out smooth and effortless. His attentiveness and professionalism truly stood out. Although the hotel is due for renovation, its staff remain its greatest strength. Their care and dedication consistently make every stay a pleasure. You do not tell guests that the restaurant is a separate business and does not automatically qualify for the ACCOR explorer discounts which is annoying and wastes a lot of time

The overall stay was acceptable, but there were several service and room-related issues that affected the experience and, in my opinion, could have been avoided. I had specifically booked a Premier Room, but was initially allotted a Superior Room. I realised this only after settling in and then had to request that the room be changed to the category I had actually booked. The staff subsequently arranged the correct room, which I appreciate, but having to repack and shift rooms after check-in was an unnecessary inconvenience. There were also a few shortcomings in the room. The hair dryer was not functioning. Since we only discovered this shortly before checkout, we did not request a replacement. In addition, although the reservation was clearly for two adults, only one dental kit had been placed in the room. The minibar was completely empty. Even after requesting, there were no soft drinks or snacks available to stock it. As a result, when I wanted a simple soft drink late at night, I had to order juice through room service instead. For a hotel of this category, I felt the minibar arrangement could have been better. Wi-Fi access was straightforward for me because I already had my Accor account/app signed in. However, my accompanying guest was unable to connect without going through the process of registering an email address on the Accor page. Requiring a hotel guest to complete a separate registration process merely to access Wi-Fi felt unnecessarily cumbersome. The breakfast spread was also rather limited, and both the variety and taste could be improved. The breakfast on the second day was somewhat better, which was appreciated. Individually, these may appear to be relatively minor issues, but taken together they did affect the overall quality of the stay, especially considering the room category booked and the standards generally expected from an Accor property. I am sharing these comments as constructive feedback rather than as a complaint, and I hope these areas can be looked into so that the experience is smoother for future guests.

An amazing experience over-all. Only glitch was the water flow in the shower. The slope has to be aligned to ensure the water drains smoothly not leaving us standing in the soapy water. This was room 412.
