Great spot to access when driving and close to plenty of restaurants etc for dinner. Office walk also very easy. Room was comfortable and quiet. Staff were all very helpful and polite. I will be back at this hotel

1. Very convenient location: across Yarra River from Melbourne CBD. Cross river by nearby bridge and you are in free zone for CBD trams! Alternatively, turn right at hotel front door and walk (through Melbourne Convention centre) to casino - about 10 minutes ( and will protect you from at times freezing winds off Yarra). 2.Building/interior: = top quality, designer magazine minimalist style (see accompanying photos). 3.Check in/out: fast/ efficient by very pleasant staff. So what if only one person at check-in desk - that can cause a delay - but what would be point of having more people to deal with few times a day when a lot of people check in/out? Also, would obviously increase operating costs + ∴ add to costs ∴ room rate! 4.Breakfast. We normally avoid, as often a rip off. Here, recommend, make a booking including it. Not only a fair price, but very generous buffet ( and because of location of hotel, no alternatives nearby ) - but they have not taken advantage of that - to Novotel's credit!. 5. Conclusion: A Novotel in tip top condition and run by very pleasant and efficient staff. Perfect location on edge of Melbourne CBD (thus access to its free tram network) + easy walk to casino + also close to Melbourne port where cruise ships depart from (reason for this stay was for a cruise on QE). You can see both Melbourne CBD + port + casino are in easy reach of this hotel. Freeway is not a problem, as hotel has double glazing. Better still, it has top notch staff and cocoons you in a very modern design aesthetic, in impeccably maintained rooms that are impressive, even by 2023 standards.
