INTRUDER - NOT ENOUGH BEDS

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious incident that occurred during my recent stay at Novotel Surfers Paradise. On the evening of 04/01/2025, an intruder entered my room, 1111, without my consent. This was a highly unsettling experience. The following morning, when we discussed the situation with hotel management, we were informed that an elderly woman had somehow convinced security staff that the room was hers. This explanation is concerning, as it suggests a significant breakdown in your security protocols and raises serious questions about the safety of your guests. As a result, the incident caused considerable distress and disrupted my stay. It also deeply affected my friend, who was with us, as they have experienced a similar incident abroad, but on a much worse scale. Given the severity of this situation and the breach of security, I am requesting a full refund for my accommodation charges. I believe this is a reasonable request, considering the circumstances and the profound impact this experience had on my visit. Additionally, after this incident, we checked into Sofitel Wentworth Sydney and encountered another issue. The room was booked for 2 adults and 4 children, and we requested adjoining rooms, as it is unsafe for young children to be left unattended. Unfortunately, this seemed like an inconvenience to the staff. While the issue was eventually resolved, the experience was far from ideal. Upon checking into our rooms, we found that there were only two King beds, which was very disappointing. Given that we made the booking for 6 people, I did not expect to receive only two beds. When we requested a solution, we were informed that we could have a roll-out bed for an additional $80 per night, which I do not believe is appropriate for a hotel of this standard. This experience, coupled with the issues at Novotel Surfers Paradise, has left me feeling extremely disappointed. I was looking forward to becoming a Gold member of Accor this year, but after these experiences, I am now questioning my membership renewal. I trust you will address this matter seriously and respond promptly. I look forward to your swift resolution of these issues. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hotel is tired and in need of a face lift. It’s in the heart of surfers, with everything on your doorstep. Difficult to find staff with front desk and concierge normally run by only 1 person. Pool is old and uninviting with limited staff service. Room was clean. Breakfast acceptable for 3/4 star hotel. In busy season you’ll be waiting for lifts.
