Couple in our 30s from USA Stayed 5 nights in April 2026 We absolutely loved our stay at Fairmont Mara Safari Club. I highly recommend it 10/10 and it was an amazing experience. Facilities/Staff: the grounds are beautifully maintained. The main building is very functional and large. WiFi only in the main building but that wasn’t a problem. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. They knew our preferences after the first day. We got massages which were reasonably priced (80USD for 60 min) and would recommend. The hotel is right on the Mara River. Accommodations: We stayed in a deluxe tent. All tents are along the river. No AC but even in April (hottest time of year) there was no need because of all shade from trees and a constant breeze. The tent itself was nice and clean. We didn’t have any bugs at all. Game Drives: included is 2 drives per day. I recommend booking your travel so that you come before the afternoon/evening drive and leave after the morning drive on departure day). The hotel is located in the Mara North conservancy so right as you drive out of the property there are tons of animals. We saw lions only 10 min drive out. We had Alfred for all 9 of our game drives and he was excellent. An important note is that whereas for the national park you cannot go off-road, on the conservancy off-roading is allowed so we were able to get up close. Food: They had different cuisines and options every meal. We enjoyed the food. They have a garden where they grow most of the vegetables and fruits on our plates.

We stayed here in 2017 and had a stellar experience. This time, it was not so great. The food formerly was outstanding, but now we found it generally dodgy and it actually made one of us quite sick on our final night. Bartender was nice but drinks were rather awful - dawas were bitter, other concoctions no better. Public areas, including a large portion of the dining deck, were blocked off for future renovations. And our final bill included game drives we didn't take (we had our own driver) and had to dispute. On the plus side: we got excellent massages by Gillian - can highly recommend her! This was formerly a place we absolutely loved, but it looks like current management has let it slip. A real pity, since the location is beautiful and it is a real treat to see hippos in the river right under your tent.

We were warmly treated by all the staff at the very beginning of our stay and that stayed consistent throughout the entire time. The accommodations were high end, clean, with service that matched. The dining was fantastic with many well prepared dishes served with great help. Our safari guide, Dominic, was fantastic. He had an excellent depth of knowledge and understanding of the all wild game we encountered including the game’s behaviors. And can’t forget to mention how special we were treated by shuttle drivers, gate attendants, along with many others hard to mention. We will be back’
