Staying at Raffles is not just a hotel stay, it is an experience and a destination in itself. My husband & I had a desire to stay at this hotel for 34 years, since we saw it after its first major renovation in 1991. We are now both retired so this was our retirement treat. We received an upgrade to a suite so we were thrilled. The staff were extra special, from the doormen in their immaculate uniforms to the reception staff to our delightful butlers. Vikram the doorman greeted us by name - still not sure how he did that. Fitrah & Emma were our butlers & the most delightful women. We told Fitrah about our bucket list wish to stay at the hotel, getting engaged in Singapore & our recent wedding anniversary. She arranged balloons & a celebratory treat. This was indeed a surprise. This was going the extra mile. We did the history tour with Nazir who obviously had a great love of the hotel & her rich history. This not something you would do every time you went to Singapore, certainly not for the average person because it is ridiculously expensive. But if you have a special celebration, it is well worth treating yourself. I'd recommend a minimum of 2 nights.

The Grande Dame, as Raffles is referred to, is an apt name for this historic hotel. We stayed here for four nights recently, and every day provided a deeper appreciation, not just for the hotel, but for our privilege of staying there. Most would know Raffles is where the Singapore Sling was invented in the early 1900s, and today it's still the flagship cocktail of Raffles' Long Bar. There are multiple in-house restaurants, each with their own charm and prestige, and all of the highest standard. There is also a rooftop pool area, including a bar and snack style outdoor restaurant, where we had lunch each day of our stay. The butler service, which is included for each guest, is the means of ensuring that virtually anything that you desire you will receive. I drink a particular type of rum which was only available at the Pool Bar, but the butlers ensured it was sent to the restaurant we were dining in each night for me - now that is service. I can say without hesitation, we won't consider staying anywhere in Singapore in future other than at Raffles. Highly recommended.

Staying at this iconic hotel was truly a dream come true. Not only is it a national monument, but it also feels like stepping into a timeless piece of history. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, we were treated like royalty. Everything about our stay was exceptional. The rooms were stunning—elegant, comfortable, and immaculately maintained with luxurious amenities restocked daily. The butlers were incredible, always attentive and ready to help with anything from answering questions to making reservations. We also had amazing support from the bellmen, especially Allen, who kindly took our photo in front of the hotel—a keepsake we’ll always treasure. We indulged in the hotel’s many dining options, and of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at the legendary Long Bar. We enjoyed countless Singapore Slings and Raffles beer throughout our stay. One evening, we ordered room service and had drinks right in the comfort of our suite. A real highlight was the guided tour with the hotel’s historian, Nazir. His passion and knowledge brought the hotel’s rich past to life—it made us appreciate our stay even more. We also had a fantastic time relaxing at the pool and sharing great conversations with Ariff and the rest of the wonderful staff. This experience was more than just a hotel stay—it was something truly special. Memorable, luxurious, and filled with personal touches. I’ll cherish every moment of it, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore. You simply have to experience it for yourself!
