Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Our few requests were met quickly by your gracious staff Accommodations were comfortable, clean and well appointed although we were surprised there were no drawers in the room for storage so we had to live out of suitcases for 3 days.

You have asked twice for my feedback so here it is.
If you offer your customers a harbour view room- it is logical for them to receive a harbour room.
If you offer your customers a city view room- it is logical for them to receive a city view room.
I booked directly with The Empress Victoria to come and celebrate my wedding for September 17-19, 2026. Upon arrival, I was put in room 582. The view was not in fact a city view room - it was looking into the rooms of the wing directly across from me - nothing else!
I believe this was a blatant misrepresentation, and far below the standard of Fairmont.
On principle, I went downstairs and spoke with the manager. Casper explained that the hotel was close to capacity and that there wasn’t a room change available. He offered me $200 credit towards my dining. As I had just arrived, I did not want to allow the situation to spoil my wedding plans, so I stayed at the hotel - what else could I have done- leave?
I had expressed in my hotel booking notes, that I was arriving for my wedding celebration. It would have been nice if the hotel had maybe shown some interest and even had a welcome note. The stated amenity I was told the hotel would be providing amounted to 3 mini croissants you would be provided at a 3 star breakfast buffet.
The concierge did book our wedding dinner reservation at Q for September 18. And compliments to the hostess Cal - who when we spoke with her the night before- showed us around and offered to hold us the window seats for our wedding dinner. That was great customer care. As was the care provided by the door men greeting us upon arrival such as Richard.
What a beautiful hotel.
That does not excuse the situation regarding the hotel room misrepresentation. Basically, I was given what was left versus what I had booked. And that is not really caring for your customer, especially on their wedding celebration.
I’ve stayed at hotels around the world - your team dropped the ball on this.

The Gold Lounge was amazing! It incorporated the balcony overlooking the harbour which was stunning. The food in the lounge was absolutely excellent, especially the seared tuna sushi. The special touches in our room for our anniversary were thoughtful and very much appreciated but also elevated our experience. Nicole at check-in was helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for easy access to the key attractions. The garden flowers were a highlight and truly spectacular- i thoroughly enjkyed wandering in the garden. The only down size when we arrived the directions to Gold checkin were unclear and we ended up wandering around 'first floor' where the restaurants and high tea areais looki g for check. We asked 3 staffmembers before we got to the correct place.

Stayed one night and had dinner there.
We were celebrating our 50 anniversary and I mentioned my parents also stayed at the Empress for their 50. We had bought our parents the stay with High tea and our kids bought our stay, (without knowing about my parents).
We did receive a couple of happy anniversary’s from the check in and our waitress but nothing else.
So it was nothing special.

Overall I felt the stay was wonderful. I was staying with a small child and while the property is beautiful and the gold lounge is very nice, I think it was not as good at catering to children as other properties at that level. This may be a good thing. I would definately come back with adults. I just felt that I did not want to disturb other patrons in lounge with a busy 6 year old. We typically got in and got out quickly, to be respectful to other guests. Beatiful property, staff was very helpful and accomadating and location was well situated.

We had just completed a 29 day drive from Colorado through BC and Alaska, including a 5 day ferry ride from Haines, AK and arrived at the Fairmount Empress. It was a WOW experience! The grounds were stunning and the hotel beautiful! The service was A+

The Empress Hotel was perfectly situated for our recent trip to Victoria. After getting off of our cruise ship in Vancouver, we took the BC Ferries Shuttle to Victoria, where we were dropped on the other side of the block from the Empress. After a day or touring Victoria and catching up with family, we then rented a car from Budget, whose fleet are located directly under the hotel.
As for the hotel itself, it is decorated and operated to a very high standard! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was included in our rate.

The carpets were not vaccumed. Hair and degree could be seen upon close inspection. Housekeeping can confirm I had to ask them to vaccum right after I checked in.

I loved the staff. They are SO good, I wonder who does your training. Thoughtful responses delivered kindly but the conference food was terrible. Same things over and over again. You could blame the budget, but one day was "take" out lunch and it was the same as the other lunch but in a box. No utensils in the bag, salad was wilted, sandwiches meagre fillings with little dressing. That was the kitchens fault. I will be following up with conference people. It was hard to get anywhere and clearly the capacity was an issue. The stay was great, the conference less so.

I enjoyed my stay at the Fairmont however, was extremely disappointed to find that my luggage was broken when I got to the airport. The staff who loaded our luggage had a hard time making it fit and subsequently, the wheel was ripped off my luggage and not disclosed until we got out of cab at airport to discover this. I was not impressed to say the least. It did really tarnish my experience. I would appreciate someone addressing compensation for a new piece of luggage.
