Room 617 was disappointing. The first few hours of our stay we were dealing with room issues - fridge and AC not wokring, then the power to the room went out. This was not how we wanted to celebrate our anniversary.

We had a lovely room overlooking the harbor. It was beautiful to watch the boats, taxis, and the sea planes come and go. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed. Loved the shower.

The room was very comfortable and quiet and we slept great. The staff were sweet, accommodating, and attentive. The tea was fabulous. The hotel is well-situated and it felt like we were a part of a history. Some decor and furnishings will soon need updating, but overall the hotel is well-run and maintained. We really enjoyed the stay overall and would stay again.

The staff on the gold floor added a special touch
to our granddaughter’s eleventh birthday.
The cake that we ordered was magnificent, the tea sandwiches were delicious. Providing us with a lovely privat section in the lounge was much very much appreciated.
Staying on the Gold Floor is the best .
The decor in the lounge exquisite.

Our first night was wonderful in a large room with a King bed overlooking the harbor. The next 2 nights, as part of our Orbridge tour, we were moved to a small room on the back side of the hotel with a Queen bed and a small frosted window which prohibited us from seeing outside of our room.

My husband and I spent 4 nights under the Gold membership during our honeymoon, by far the best hotel we have stayed at. The location was perfect for everything we had planned and then view of the harbor was lovely. The staff was pleasant, courteous and showed care for their patrons. My husband got food poisoning the last night of our stay after eating a spoiled oyster and the staff made sure we had everything we needed to help him through the night and the Sous chef took the time to check in with us the next day. We would definitely return without a second thought.

I was told I would recieve a 100 dollar credit for the room not being ready. I was billed the full ammount and looking at my itemized reciept there was no credit. I was offered a bottle of wine which I accepted but not to offset the 100 credit. I traveled for 22 hours to get to victoria and it would have meant the world to get in the room to shower and decompress from a long trip. Also some sort of fire alarm was going off the night before I left which was unconvenient.

I had such an amazing time in my 3 nights at your beautiful hotel. I especially loved your gardens with so many places to sit and enjoy after a day out. High Tea was great. The outdoor eating area was welcoming even for a solo traveller. The bar was entertaining. All the food and drinks were amazing. And above all, I always felt safe and wanted. Thank you to all I had the privilege of meeting.

The room was good size for my family and I. Overall had a good stay. Unfortunate about the alarm that went off during our visit. Our kids were just asleep.
Also wanted to mention that my wife had a less than pleasant breakfast at the restaurant. The waiter and hostess were very judgemental of my wife and my youngest (under 2) as he was a bit messy. Made my wife very uncomfortable. Do not expect that from any establishment. Was very disappointed.

The Fairmont Empress is probably the best service I’ve ever received at a hotel in my life. They truly aim to please and treat every guest like royalty. The grounds are immaculate. The facilities are also incredible. Breakfast at the Bengal to dinner at the Q are perfect as well and top it off with a full size indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna to close out the night.

Booked Gold Floor. Was given an upgrade, but the upgrade was to a noisier room. Asked for linens for the pullout couch and it took an hour to get. Couldn't get a late checkout which is one of the biggest perks of being a platinum member and staying on the gold floor
