Unfortunate breakfast visit

I am a local that enjoys breakfast here every once in a while. The service is always excellent and the food is enjoyable. I had the misfortune of being served by Paul on my last visit. The usual pleasant atmosphere was dampened by the way he was degrading a fellow employee. He was talking with another worker about a disabled (not the term he used) employee. The complaining about special treatment and that she should just retire really bothered me. I have had the pleasure of being served by her many times and she is always friendly and enjoys chatting. I am hoping this was an off day but has really put a bad taste in my mouth.

My arrival was fine The door man was very, very sweet and nice. And ask me if I wanted to take my luggage through my said. Yes, I went and checked in. I know I was only there at 1140 AM. And I understand that the room I was given was quite disappointing when I got to the room. It had a window but the window was translucent. I could not see through and I am not a claustrophobic person. But unfortunately it certainly wasn't a room. I had expected. I said to the wonderful doorman at the time Mike i think . There's no way I can stay. I called to the front desk and advised my issue. I waited 20 minutes and then he left down to go. No one called me back at all .... The bellman went to get me another room where we moved to the opposite side of the building. A much better room with at least a view. That evening I had a great turn down service. Unfortunately, that cup that was given was dirty. No big deal the next morning. I woke up which was on the Sunday morning. I had early morning day came back to the room and the room looked fantastic.. The next day I worked all day and came back to the room. Everything was quite clean that day. Thank you to the housekeeper who took care of everything for me. My wake up calls were very well done. But on the 3rd day I realized I better have a clock in my room and a clock arrived. Which was great a little around clock but unfortunately I guess I didn't look at it. Nor did the maintenance man. The middle of the night the alarm went on at 3 AM. Another night of nosleeping . The next day crazy buys all day came back around midnight after a day of 14 meetings headed to bed and at 2am teh smoke detector went on and didnt stop ........ guess a battery needed to be changed... I love the Fairmont hotels. Unfortunately, this time I guess it was just a calamity of errors. Quite disappointed with my experience as it is a well known beautiful property
