The hotel is beautiful inside and out. I love the history exhibits, unfortunately some were closed during our stay. The rooms were a bit smaller than we expected, though nicely appointed. We experienced perfect service at every turn. I highly recommend staying here, with a river view. It's a stunning view day and night.

This was a perfect place to embrace Winter and see a beautiful old city. All the restaurants and sights were open and not crowded during this cold part of the year. We went the second week in January and brought layers and warm clothes. It was perfect. The hotel is in fantastic shape with all updated rooms and amenities. Beds were comfortable, rooms were warm, bar was inviting, and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend this for a winter getaway.

I am a frequent visitor of the chateau, both for business and pleasure. This time was our yearly family visit right before school starts. As usual we had a great time. We upgraded to the Churchill suite and that suited us just fine. We will definitely be back

Everything was great except for the pool experience.

Night one - we checked in just after 9:00 pm due to the weather we dealt with on our drive in from Halifax. Unfortunately your pool was already closed for the evening. Day two had us doing everything outdoors followed with a lovely dinner that was suggested by the concierge only for us to have a planned 7-9pm swim (we’re big on swimming). Upon returning to the hotel to head up to the room to change I quickly asked the front desk if the pool had towels already. This is when I was informed of the pool being closed. I was quite shocked to find this out. After a few questions were asked we were offered to swim at a pool at your sister hotel. This one being open until 10:00 pm. Due to the minus 20 weather temperature I assumed there would be a shuttle/ taxi service - I was wrong. Nothing was offered for either way aside from “you should walk, it’s a lovely night. A little cold but it’s a beautiful walk”. I’m sorry, I don’t now any parent that would force their young children to walk either way, in the evening, in those temps, especially with wet hair. The offer seemed really tone deaf and the lack of a shuttle service for either way at your caliber of hotel was really dissapointing. We both expected more. We stayed at and visited too many Fairmonts, Marriotts, Westin’s world wide to know this.
