My friend and I have a tradition of enjoying a special tea whenever we travel, and we’ve been lucky enough to experience memorable teas at places like the Ritz in London and the Plaza in New York. We were especially excited for afternoon tea at the Fairmont, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The service felt lackluster, we were seated in a cramped corner by a door, and the dining area itself was underwhelming and sparsely decorated. Most of the pastries were largely inedible, though the tea itself was fine. We had dressed up and were really looking forward to the full experience, so it was disappointing that it felt much more bland and unremarkable than anticipated.

All the staff were helpful and professional from the greeting and assistance outside-valet parking and assistance with luggage, directions were clear. The check in was seamless, again clear explanations and I felt comfortable asking questions. The room-3151- was spotless, beautiful and very comfortable- loved the size of the bathroom, the closet light and amenities. The room was convenient to the elevators.The concierges were helpful and also professional. We reserved two spots on the walking tour which was superb. It was our 7th visit to your beautiful city and we stilled learned a lot from the tour. Excellent. The chateau’s location is so convenient to everything. We came with another couple-one newly recovered from a long bout of throat cancer-they both had an equally lovely time and a well deserved special time.

This is the one and only hotel I would recommend while staying in Quebec City. It is beautiful inside and out, it has great restaurants and a gorgeous cocktail bar and is located in a perfect location to walk everywhere. The funiculaire is also just steps away to take you down to Petit Champlain. The rooms are nice and clean, but keep in mind this is a historic property so some things will be older and the rooms are small. I felt safe here as a single woman traveling alone. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly.
