The Chateau is everything you've read, historic, gorgeous and perched so beautifully over the St Lawrence. It's all true, but what made it special for us was staying on the gold level floor. The included breakfast 7-11, the dinner Hors d Oeuvre's (5-7) were amazing. So much food, and it was all delicious. Then at eight, canapés, some of the most delicious I have ever tasted. The main parts of the hotel were often crowed. When there was a wait at Bar 1608 in the lobby, we simply headed up to the 14th for a drink without all the noise. The staff on the gold level was what made this trip special, especially Eric. I don't remember other names, but everyone we encountered was top notch. I've read a few people who didn't think gold level was worth it. For us, it's what made an extremely popular hotel feel like a sanctuary and totally worth it. I don't think we would have enjoyed our stay as much had we not had this escape. We don't splurge as a rule, but this was special and I highly recommend it!

I got to call many times to do a reservation. Two days before my stay, I called do confirm my stay, they weren’t sure about if it was a gift card or not. When I arrived at the hotel, they tried to process the whole payment. I got to tell them it was a gift card. They finally took just the 200$ security. The week after, i tried to buy something, it was refused because the hotel has charged the whole price (without the gift card). I needed to call many times again. They told me if I check in before 16h, they could try to clean up the room in priority. After 16h i didn’t get any sms message and i needed to talk to someone.

Everything was great, except the wifi in the room was terrible. Could barely access the internet or stream anything. I also never received notification that my room was available at 4 p.m., so I had to stand back in line to speak to a receptionist. The room service was great and the staff was great.
