Too many tourists walking freely around

The hotel is nice. The rooms were good, but very small washrooms. They allow the public to wander and look at the building inside which is very odd. Found that there was alot of tourists walking the halls when it was raining outside. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good with ample hot water. There is coffee in the room and water bottles for free. The pool is small with sooooo many kids. The screaming echos off the walls in there make it is not a great place to relax. The elevators are so slow that we found ourselves walking up and down the stair cases. Nice that there is a Starbucks on site, but again, the tourists hang out there and take all the seating so you end up walking back into your room to enjoy your coffee.

All was very good - near excellent - until 4/15, 1230 in the AM the day of our planned departure and there was a fire alarm - false, thank goodness. But there was ZERO communication - nothing, none. No announcements, no automated calls. And then once outside in the cold, no one out speaking to guests or explaining anything. Not even a communication when clear to re-enter. Once back on the 17th (!!!) floor we waled down from, it proceeded to go off 2 more times - perhaps three. We were just pretty surprised, at how there was absolutely no communication during, or after this event.

We loved visiting Quebec City and staying at Le Chateau Frontenac.

Our beautiful view of the St Lawrence River was very relaxing as we looked out our window. The Concierge was outstanding in helping us place reservations and giving us tips on the city. She was also very apologetic about the fire alarm which was activated three times during the night. The only recommendation we have is for the PR person to prepare a statement as to what happened and not just apologize! We were all concerned. So the communication could have been better. Everything else was over the top …. Fabulous. Thank you for everything.
