Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu 5 stars

Wonderful service, golf is amazing and fabulous hotel with a view. It was a great weekend with friends, everything was perfect and also at the pro shop you can find a beautiful clothes

We enjoyed the stay despite the fact that the service level is far below what you would expect of a Fairmont hotel. The room was cleaned daily, and the hotel grounds and common areas were clean and well-manicured. The bathroom in our Fairmont view double-double room was tiny with no room to put my toiletries. The beds were comfortable, and we slept well. The breakfast buffet is a decent spread but not as nice as some places we've been. However, the service in the dining room is terrible. We got seated promptly and greeted within a reasonable amount of time, but that was the end of the service. You'll never see your server again. I also had to chase down the server to get our check. I would expect superior service at a Fairmont, and the dining service was poor at best. One evening, we couldn't even get a table in the dining room for dinner, so we had to order room service. The Room Service was quick and excellent, and the Spaghetti was delicious. It was a great decision (albeit forced) to stay in the room and order in. The valet parked and retrieved our car promptly but were not particularly hustling to greet you or help you. This hotel is the only game in the area unless you want to stay at a B&B or a very small local hotel. It certainly has the ambiance, but I wouldn't make a special trip to stay here because the experience just isn't up to par for the price you pay. Other reviews have mentioned that the place needs updating, and I would agree as the walls and woodwork show lots of wear and tear.

Incredibly long wait in line for a coffee (10+ minutes). Limited selection of pastries available. After being served the employee went to get more baked goods from the back room, rather than suggesting I wait a moment until she restocked. Compostable and paper products were used, but an inordinate amount of waste generated. 2 coffees, a croissant, muffin and cookie produced two cups, with lids, with sleeves and a cardboard cup holder; napkins, three pastry bags, and one larger paper bag with handles to carry the pastries. This transaction could have used a fraction of the waste.

Staff go the extra mile to make sure make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Amal does her job very well and personally looked after us.

Fun activities. Beautiful views. Friendly staff. Will be coming back.
