This is the worse mercure I have ever stayed in. The following review is not dissimilar to recent previous reviews. The reception on arrival was quite rude but didn’t think much of it. Later on, the safety box in our room was broken. We called reception to come and fix it, 20 mins pass and no one has come by so we called again and they said “yes yes they sent someone” (the hotel is small and the room was <1 min walk from reception). The person finally shows and they then called out a maintenance person who said it was broken and would take some time to replace. Meanwhile we needed to leave to get to dinner but obviously cannot leave valuables out. As someone experienced in these situations, the first thing you do is relocate someone to a new room to avoid faff and uphold customer experience, which the front desk person refused to do. Instead, he expected us to sit in the room and wait for them to replace the safety box, absolutely ludicrous. The staff simply didn’t care at all and/or were untrained to deal with any situation like this. After an hour of back and forth, we were finally reassigned a new room after being stern. Very stressful and a waste of time. We had an early check out at 6:15am and the person on reception (different the one we had to deal with before) was awful, extremely rude. Fixated on their computer playing solitaire (yes, really), didn’t look at us to even see what we wanted to do, didn’t ask about our stay or even say goodbye. The whole customer experience at this place is laughable and far from any service you will expect from a hotel, let alone a 4*. The bar person and porter were the only two staff members who were friendly and professional, credit to them. Other points to note about the hotel is that that over the 4 days that we were there, the gym wasn’t cleaned once. The rooms seem to have little sound proofing as you can hear loud music and the kids screaming from the pool. The towels, sheets and covers in the rooms are worn and old and the beds are hard which is nice if you like a hard bed. I would advise anyone reading this to stay elsewhere, there are plenty of nice hotels at similar rates that you can stay at. Mercure management, be assured that this will be raised further through internal channels. Thank you.

The following issues were noted during my stay: 1) Insufficient basic amenities were provided; for example, a hairdryer was unavailable. 2) The proximity of a gutter to room 010 resulted in persistent dripping noises throughout the night. 3) The food quality was mediocre, with limited vegetarian options. 4) Room cleaning was inadequate, seemingly limited to floor wiping. 5) The receptionist's lack of courtesy and failure to promptly provide a second key to illuminate the room while a parking issue was resolved caused unnecessary inconvenience for my wife. I felt mercure langkawi is worst then the ibis chain if i compare it as per the standards.

This hotel is well located. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Having a pleasant stay.

This hotel is central to all shopping places, beach is opposite and airport also just 10 minutes away. The food is great and morning breakfast has a great spread. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Having a pleasant stay.

Suppose satisfied but the staff is rude & put the pressure to customer so disappointed stay here. Counter staff good but the room service staff is very rude, we request extra towels, when open the door, instead pass to me, he throws it to floor..the restaurant staff worst, we went for breakfast & sit near food, but the staff Syaz no smiling face and sound angry "halau" me to move to another table, I ask why, she just said "move"...see her angry face, I have no choice but to change table...my family really unhappy with it... one of the waiter Iman is good, run here and there so busy but still smiling..do you think we dare to stay in this hotel again!!!
