This was our second visit to the Mercure in 6 months and this time we stayed for 18 nights due to many reasons: friendliness of all the staff, cleanliness of the hotel , central position of hotel. For this visit when we arrived the concierge said welcome back and everyone we met recognised us as returning guests. To me, that is what makes not a good but an excellent hotel. As to the food within the hotel it is very good and the restaurant needs to be used more by guests. I guess with being so close to the main street this has to be the reason but the value for money and excellent food far outweighs what you can get outside but again that is my opinion. As, to price with Langkawi being a duty free island prices including alcohol are very reasonable. All the bar staff make great cocktails! We had a suite on the top floor with a wonderful view which we took full advantage of. The pool is a good size and the sun loungers are of good quality as well as the pool towels. And yes, we will be booking again.
