We had an incredibly enjoyable 4 night stay over New Year at the Mercure in Langkawi. The staff here are out of this world. So warm, so friendly and so willing to help you at all times. The rooms were spacious and modern and the air conditioning worked perfectly . The lobby, common areas and pool were always spotlessly clean. I do have a few suggestions for improvements :- - There needs to be more pool chairs because almost every time we went to the pool the chairs were already occupied and there was nowhere to sit - The buffets for both breakfast and dinner had lots of variety, but there were several cooked items and meats that were not kept hot and were cold when we chose them from the buffet. The hotel is only 200 metres from the main beach, with Starbucks, a Seven-Eleven and plenty of shops all within a very short walk. There was some daily construction noise from 8am on the beach side of the hotel but that didn’t overtake our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Langkawi.

This is my second stay with this hotel The first experience wasn't good either but I thought giving another chance due to no availability at the hotel of my choice. Housekeeping of the hotel need to improve a lot. - for 5 nights there, i had to call the housekeeping to make the room when I came back at 5pm the room was still not done. - after room is ready, the staff forgot to restock tea/coffee etc. - towels always a problem , not enough esp face/hand towels - toilet a bit smelly due to draining system - i asked for sajadah, had to asked twice. the reason given was.. forgotten I am paying more than 1k per night and did not get a good experience.
