I called the hotel at 1pm asking if there was any chance I could check in early, the employee checked to see if our room was ready and told me it wasn’t and check in at 2pm. I arrived at 1:55pm and was told our room was still not ready and give it another 15minutes I unloaded our bags and sat with my two children in the hotel foyer. After 15 minutes I attempted to check in again only to be told to wait another 10-15 minutes. I returned to my kids and our bags and waited. Again, time passed and I tried again and was again told the same thing again and again and it’s now 3pm I expressed my extreme discontent and inconvenience it was sitting in the foyer with my kids waiting an hour only to be told to keep waiting. Finally at 3:20pm I was able to check in to our room but by this stage all our excitement for our staycation was gone!

I wish you hadn’t “rebadged” the wonderful Chinese restaurant that used to be there.

Arrived at 1am to nice reception. Confirmed I had pre-booked breakfast which could be had in the Mercure buffet restaurant or the Novatel Alacarte restaurant. Room was clean but tired. I booked a Standard Queen and received a Double. Nothing really to report here other than lacking value for money. Arrived at Novatel Breakfast restaurant at 8am and was told that breakfast was not included in my room. A large pile of papers was waved at me to confirm that breakfast was not included (this was the nightly running sheet I presume) and that 'I could just take it up with reception when I checked out'. I opened the ALL App on my phone and showed the host my breakfast booking to which I got rolling eyes and a confirmation that 'he'd look into it'. I was then ignored for 10 minutes to which I got up and gave my order to the host (who was busy at the reception desk - total of 3 customers in the restaurant including myself at this stage). The host took my order which included an espresso coffee. The alacarte price for my breakfast would have been $25 (Bacon & Eggs $20 and an espresso coffee $5). I ate my breakfast and promptly left. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill after checkout and was charged extra for the coffee... I did send an email and was promptly told this was the way it was. Quite frankly... one of these things is not worth mentioning... all of them together added up to a lack of care.
