Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds. We both had spa treatments while there which were also great. Food was lovely, the only small downside was that the bar staff were very intermittent and were hard to find at the quieter parts of the day. There were 3 wedding on while we were on site but you would not have really noticed as the wedding 'venue' is around the back of the site so they are kept completely separate which is great if you are worried about noise. We would definitely come again.

Could be amazing but neglected

Disappointing Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

Walton hall as a building and the grounds is beautiful but it’s been left in a state of disrepair. Stayed in the front section and had no air conditioning. Ordered food in the bar and didn’t arrive after 90 mins so cancelled and collected a pizza.

Potential, but really disappointing

Started off really well. Had a lovely massage at the spa, but then everything went downhill. I booked a spa package, and i feel we were punished for it. The room was the absolute minimum-even only 1 pillow each, and not all the lights working. Bed falling apart and no hangers (as if everything that could be removed for a 'basic package' was). No soap, just a single small bottle of shampoo. The bedroom was next to the bike rack, so we were having people at our window collecting bikes, which was not very relaxing, as there were no net curtains-just the big black-out ones that kept the heat in, so we couldn't keep those shut. Reception staff were not that friendly and all other staff were really slow, no work ethic (all looked annoyed to be there). Dinner was delayed as the order wasn't put through, but we were given a complimentary drink, which was a good gesture. For dinner, I had ordered grilled chicken breast, with dauphinoise potatoes, honey carrot puree, tenderstem broccoli with a red current Jus. But i received a chicken breast with 3 standard broccoli florets and a square of the potatoes and gravy. Starter of a piece of toast and slice of pate and pudding of a very dry chocolate slab, and this was £30. For breakfast, we had to clear our own table to have somewhere to eat. Ants on the table, so brushed those off. Went to get a tea and a mini chocolate croissant on a plate. Sat down and picked the croissant up and 2 ants crawled onto my hand out of the croissant. Really disappointing. Below standard even for a Travelodge, but a lot more expensive. Beautiful grounds, with such potential, but feel there is utter contempt for people who stay, especially if you get a spa deal.

Room was very disappointing, and confusion with room number ie 54 not 654, did not help No hot water, just warm Staff excellent, they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Food was very good, especially in the orangery
