Excellent rooms, views outstanding. Welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate (birthday). Rooms clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Only one problem with no mattresses on the cots only a thin board. Will stay again

Chose this hotel based on previous stays at Mercure brand hotels and its location. This was our 1st visit to Liverpool and won't be our last. We booked a river view room, on arrival, sorted the parking (£14 for 24 hours), and as luck would have it, our room was ready, so early check in. The room was clean and functional. The bed was huge and comfy. The bathroom was 'Bijou' but again functional. Shower lovely and powerful. Breakfast was very good, varied selection and food was hot and plentiful. All the staff were very polite and professional. Their focus was on customer service, a credit to the hotel and brand. Would I recommend-Yes Would I return-Yes

Very disappointed this time! First room we were given the aircon was very loud. We were transferred to next door. We asked for a thin, lighter quilt and there is none. The kettle leaked, extremely uncomfortable pillows, very noisy roommates and to top this off, fire alarm was off just before midnight. Procedure for evacuation very unclear and uncoordinated! After being told to return to our room, alarm was still on intermittently for at least nearly an hour! It’s the most horrendous experience we have had with this hotel.

One of the worst hotel rooms I've had in Liverpool. We generally use the Premier on Albert Dock, but thought we would give this one a try. Room, very small, sink blocked, door hit bath as you opened it. The windows were disgraceful. £31 for 2 double Baileys... why? The quality of the room dictated the stay, and so on that basis we did not use the restaurant and went out for breakfast. Very disappointed.

Total Disaster

Wrong information on check in. Twin room ordered and acknowledged at Reception but double given. No phone to let Reception know of problem so had to go down to Reception where allocated a twin room and told no phone as communication had to be through Whatsapp which I do not have, do not use, and don't want it so if anything required had to go physically to Reception desk. After long journey to hotel we wanted to have a quiet drink and dinner so we went to the bar Reception advised us of when we registered - first floor for bar and restaurant - only to find no one there. Eventually a barman came and we got a drink each but were told we couldn't stay in that bar as only second floor bar and restaurant open. We then went to second floor terrace and finished our drinks then went through to the "restaurant" only to find there was no restaurant and the only food available was a bar menu of pizza or hamburgers. As a result we had to go out to find dinner elsewhere. When I eventually got into bed I found the base sheet to have many bobbles on it so it was quite rough on the skin. We have stayed in this hotel a number of times before and found it quite adequate for our needs but this experience was absolutely atrocious so clearly there have been major changes in the management which make it a very basic, low level accommodation now. We were not told about you removing phones from the rooms when we registered and I find it totally unacceptable that you assume that everyone has a smart phone and everyone uses Whatsapp as this is clearly not the case. As you will gather we will not be recommending your hotel to anyone else.
