The room provided was not to the standard of star hotel, 1.Bed linen was stained and discolored 2. Bedside table electrical socket was broken and hazardous 3. Ceiling spot lights with cobwebs 4. Coffee kettle lid broken 5. Wardrobe electrical wire were hanging .( Hazardous) 6. TV remote was not working due to weak batteries 7.Bathroom vanity counter basin was choked and poor water flow 8. WC seat broken and badly stained Same above point were told to the front desk person and the duty manager came up to the room for a room change while we were having dinner and asked him to come in 10 mins later never turned up. Even after complaining the issues next day same linen were refreshed and found no change. F&B: the stewards were lack of job knowledge and every table in the restaurant were untidy and used plates and cup were not cleared and we had to wait for few minutes until cleaned. Asked for a masala omlete served a cold left over, after complaining to steward he got it changed. many more service issues. Front Office team were of lack of job knowledge and we had booked 4 rooms and we got assigned every room on different floor and after asking they said hotel is sold out and rooms were not available and after complaining of the room multiple issues, Front desk team was offering a room change, just few minutes back they told us hotel was sold out. Overall experience and choosing Grand Mercure was a wrong decision

i checked in with my old mother to have her a great experience at Surya palace. last month i did the same with her taking her to the TAJ and she had a AHA moments ~ I requested to upgrade the room as room was not even at par with 3 * hotel & i had upgrade voucher with me but i was told that all executive rooms are occupied. i had to stay with my old mother and later my on joined for night stay BUT we did NOT have a comfortable stay. Luckily it was compensated by the grand breakfast and dinner. Thanx for Prabalji / Mahendrabhai for their service.

I was not at all happy with rooms. They are badly planned. Bathrooms are clumsily designed and not have place to move around. The sanitary ware is pls and worn out. The painting in room was peeled of at few places and walls and ceiling had damp marks. The lighting is old and not placed well. Furniture in room is also very old and needs refurbishing. The view from small windows is blocked by toilet walls. Overall not value for money and certainly not according to Accor standards.

The room was not cleaned up on one of the days when I arrived back at the hotel in the evening from work; the room service was not done during the day and I had to wait for this to be completed. Also the food at the restaurant was monotonous and no menu changes observed during the stay

Where do we start? Didn’t get a good welcome, room was very noisy, felt very small and felt we couldn’t breathe - at breakfast we had very poor service and food was not good at all. We had to Checkout after one night. Very Disappointed with this booking

Not a pleasant experience this time

When I reached my room upon checking in, I saw a staff showing my room to 3 potential guests. This was not expected especially during COVID19. I didn't make any fuss and settled in the same room and locked the door, however after a couple of hours someone opened my door using a master key, when I screamed the person left immediately. The guests were very noisy and room walls didn't provide any sort of insulation to the noise outside or next door.

Not my first choice anymore

I have stayed many times in this Hotel. I am a Platinum member so I have good perspective how hotels in accorehotels should look like. I found the following gaps: 1. Although I am a Platinum member, I was not greeting as that. I didnt have teh feeling the receptionist was aware of that. 2. Breakfast is bad. I mentioned it before. Its mainly Indian cuisine, I had nothing to eat in breakfast...just fruits. 3. My room #1912 was facing constant noise from the street/outside. I am not sure the room is isolated for noises. 4. When check out, the lady did not ask how was my stay. Again, most likely she was not aware of my Platinum. 5. Breakfast in 3/5 was so busy and many people, it seemed as the staff was incapable to clean the tables, and refill the Buffet. I had nothing to eat and I was very dissapointed. 6. Until my last stay, this hotel was my first choice in Vadodara, this is not the case for my next visit.

Stayed here for 01-night. Found the staff very rigid. Room AC was not working properly. Internet was good. Staff approach was take it or leave it. Please train your staff and let them be more professional. I will NEVER visit this hotel again
