Mercure Hotel & Spa Bastia Biguglia

Well located hotel near the airport. The different staff members at the reception where very kind and helpful. Clean rooms with nice welcome note. Minor things: tv wasn’t connected to the wifi which is a piety for a smart tv. Staff at the hotel bar was very direct and not very welcoming but eventually served us well. The knowledge of English among the general staff was pretty limited but so is my French but no real point taken.

We stayed a few days in this very nice Hotel, it is located outside from the city but well positioned, the Hotel offers an excellent Breakfast, the staff is very professional and friendly and last but not least the room(s) are clean.

First room offered had heavy smell for cigarettes. Alternative room offered was full of cockroaches. Finally, I was offered a 3rd room - it was very noisy due to neighboring night club, but I had to accept this one, at least there were no insects. Breakfast is very expensive (18 eur per person) with very limited choice. No fresh vegetables offered. Breakfast staff is very unfriendly and extremely greedy. English is barely spoken and only by some members of the staff. Hotel is far from everywhere - it is by no means a Bastia hotel. It is Biguglia hotel.
