Great Location, Loyal Customer, But Disappointed This Several Times

Hotel rates are getting steeper and steeper. But as a loyal Accor customer, I thought, “just stay lah.” However, after this stay, I’m left with some hesitation about whether it’s worth staying here again in the future at this price point. First of all, both the reception and restaurant staff could show more warmth and smiles during interactions. The team appeared overworked and exhausted, which detracted from the welcoming experience expected at this level of service. Secondly, the breakfast experience was disappointing. When I ordered a sunny-side-up egg, it was served over-easy, and when my friend requested a fried egg, it also came over-easy. There seems to be a communication gap, possibly due to language barriers with the foreign staff. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:30 AM, which is admittedly late, but while we were fine with leftovers in the trays, but the cleanliness of the seating area was unacceptable. Despite many empty tables, most were uncleared, with used dishes and unclean surfaces. Only three tables near the entrance were clean enough for us to sit. Even then, we had to retrieve our own cutlery. When I requested serviettes, the waiter initially pointed to the staff cutlery and plate station, expecting me to get them myself. Eventually, realizing this was not appropriate, he retrieved them himself—but not without some reluctance. To make things easier, I followed him to the station. For the dishes, please get some improvement, . We found some dishes to be overly sweet or salty, and others were overcooked. Balancing the flavors and ensuring proper cooking would greatly enhance the dining experience. Of course, make sure all are fresh as well. Car Park…. All the closer parking spots were blocked off with cones, reserved for VIPs or VVIPs. But seriously, how VIP is VIP? It felt unnecessary and inconvenient for regular guests. As a Platinum member, I noticed a few missed benefits this time. There was no fruit platter or room upgrade, though I did receive late check-out, which was appreciated. On a positive note, I had no issues utilizing my welcome drink voucher, and the security staff were extremely helpful when my car had an issue—they kindly assisted with a jump start. No issues with housekeeping, no issue with the cleanness of hotel. Overall, while the location remains excellent, there is a pressing need for improvements in service quality and attention to detail to align with the standards expected of the brand.

Probably one of the best located hotels in Melaka. Extremely friendly staff. Comfortable bed and well appointed rooms. Good value for money.

The hotel was basic and comfortable, and the service was all right. However, there was a lack of staff, especially at breakfast, so tables were unclean and food was not replenished. The pool was good. Stay here for some essential comfort and a plus point - it is within walking distance to Jonker street

Ibis Melaka is located in a strategic area near tourist hotspots. The price of the room is worthit and not expensive according to the facilities provided. However, in order to improve service quality, there are several steps that need to be taken for customer satisfaction. The bath towels provided in the room need to be changed because they look a bit worn and some have been torn. The food for breakfast should be monitored at all times and be sufficient along with the number of guests. Overall, 7/10 and can be improved for customer satisfaction.
