ibis Leipzig City 2.5 stars

New and unfamiliar with Liepzig, needed lodging near the train station. This was within easy walking distance, and in the center of Activities. Reception was quick and efficient, lobby practical - but not a comfortable place to linger. Elevator was close to front and easy to get in and out of, quiet and gentle (if industrial-looking). Hallways quiet. Room quiet, and carpeted (some Ibis rooms are _not_}. Desk (shelf) facing window on street, well-lit by both natural and room lights, but somewhat harsh; chair uncomfortable, molded solid modern “bowl shape”, needed at least a cushion. Not easy to slide into or back from desk. “Power block” with AC power and USB connections for charging accessories was very useful, but unanchored and at times in the way. Room could use a clock. Room climate control was simple, but seemed to keep temperatures comfortable. Power outlets by bed allowed use of CPAP device. Bed and bedding clean and comfortable. SLEEP EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. Room was clean - although being a late-riser bothered housekeeper somewhat. Room was kept clean and well made-up each day. No fridge or “mini-bar”, but ICE was available and provided free from lobby bar (Ice buckets in room would be nice). NO ROOM SAFE FOR STOWING ELECTRONICS OR OTHER VALUABLES, this needed to be done with hotel safe. Bathroom facility was surprisingly roomy and well-appointed, particularly the shower. Translucent bathroom door allowed use as low-level room illumination. Room doors were solid, but heavily sprung so as to close and seal (local fire regulation requirement?) and yet door did not fully latch unless you let it slam, or solidly pushed, if door was eased closed. Needed to verify it actually latched each time. Overall was pleased with the product and the service, would use same hotel on next stay and recommend to others. As cheap Ibis hotels go, this one was definitely one of the nicer ones, and staff and layout enhance the experience. NOTE: Did not choose breakfast option, so cannot rate quality; past experiences with Ibis hotel breakfasts have been variable enough (across multiple hotels) to make me avoid the expense of inclusion in room price.

Stayed four nights in this conveniently located Central Hotel. The room was comfortable, the a/c was efficient and the breakfast excellent.

Comfortable, quiet stay. Staff very friendly and hotel room extremely clean.

We stayed with our 3yo for 2 nights. Location of the hotel is perfect - short stroll from HBF if you’re arriving with the IC. More importantly there’s a lot to do and see around with the child. Children museum is just next door, nature history museum is 5 min and the Zoo 10 min walk. Room was ready for us already around 14:00 and we go the large room 630. The lobby of the hotel is new and modern, we had drinks in the evening there. Rooms however are a bit older and soon will need refurbishment- however in our opinion price is also accordingly adjusted.

Great location, the service was okay and contactless checkout option was appreciated. However the drain in the bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell :/
