Good stay with Mercure. My room was very spacious. I would personally say that I could have done with more on the tea/coffee station as I was only given 2 sachets of each but otherwise sufficient.

Well located (but not a room with a view )

I've stayed here a couple of times before but this time I was really disappointed the room I was in was OK abit out of the way I've never stayed in a room where you had to get 2 lifts apparently it was the quite side (not) the shower was cold and when you looked out the window there was nothing to look at but a black box very disappointing but would stay again but not onthat floor

Great location in the centre of town

Had 2 night stay with family. Overall satisfied with the experience. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast could have been a little more inspiring - not enough fruit/yoghurt options. Bed was comfortable but there was no bedside table on one side - only an empty fridge with no casing around it - not a good look. Couple of maintenance issues with bathroom which were noted in writing when we let reception know - always a good sign.

Tired decor, grubby fixtures and unable to regulate heat

The radiator was on full and the thermostatic valve was inaccessible to me due to the wooden feature behind the bed. The great was oppressive and I contacted the front desk to request either a room move or at least a fan, plus getting the radiator turned off. They sent someone to turn off the radiator (thinner arms than me) and a fan was in the wardrobe. Unfortunately I was unable to sleep for much of the night due to the heat. The next two nights I had no heating which meant the room was a little cool due to the outside temperature being around minus 4 degrees. There was thick greasy dirt on the least used buttons of the TV remote - I chose not to use this during my stay! There was a brown stain on the ceiling where something had been thrown, and there were brown grubby marks on the walls and curtains. The bathroom has been repaired by a child with an unlimited source of silicon sealant. It's not a great look! I don't recommend staying here.
