Cheched in on line the day before. One of our rooms was ready so we all dumped our bags there. Came back later to get our keys. Receptionist explained everything about how to get to opur rooms, breakfast times.

All good. I've visited this hotel many times before. I booked direct with the hotel, the staff couldn't have been more helpful especially when I made a mistake with my original dates. The hotel is in a great, central location. Great staff and a good sized room. I stayed room only, so can't comment on breakfast. Room was spotlessly clean. Some areas of the hotel and rooms are looking a bit tired. Staff are friendly and helpful. Car parking prices had gone up from £5 to £8.50 per day since the last time I visited. Very limited parking available.

The karaoke outside, not the hotels fault, but was loud until gone midnight. The clock tower chiming every hour woke me up. And the extremely squeaky floor boards woke me up every time someone moved in their room, or walked past. And I am not a light sleeper!

The room was incredibly noisy due to the pub across the road which meant that had to have the windows open as the room was incredibly hot. In the afternoon I requested a fan as there wasn’t one in my room and was told by the lady at reception that there wasn’t one. I called again at 11 pm and was told that there was a fan and it would be brought up to my room. They meant that I had several hours of real discomfort which absolutely wasn’t needed. I hardly slept and had to run the great north run the day after.

An emergency booking after 'Pass the keys' cancelled on us. Fab rooms, only complaint was the noisy road sweeper. £70 Good value when you at how high Premier Inn are increasing their pricing.

Room not clean, carpet was disgusting, dated interior. Bathroom door would not open as sink was in the way. Shower screen too small so bathroom flooded, wood on the bottom of the door was rotten from the wet. Bar was not manned so receptionist had to help. Extremely limited menu if you don't want curry or pizza it's tough. I was booked for two nights, but left after one and booked in somewhere else.

Great location in centre of town. Staff were attentive and friendly. Comfortable bed. Main issue was the toilet with a few centimetres room either side - a child with no legs might be comfortable using it, but a grown adult has no chance. The view was poor, including a decomposing bird in the netting outside the window. The bar staff were welcoming, but the choices were severely lacking, effectively forcing guests to go elsewhere. Breakfast too expensive for the area, so ate elsewhere.
