Queen mattress was too soft/ worn out. Some hand soap would be appreciated. Rooms were clean and its nice that we could open the windows for fresh air. Neat kitchen to prepare some simple meals.

Room wasn't too bad, shower isn't overly 6'4 friendly, but the beds were too soft and mattress needed turning as they were like sleeping in a hammock. The iron had some sort burnt/melted fabric on the plate but Kevin quickly rectified that problem with a replacement iron 👌

Very friendly staff. Stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment which was huge. Full size kitchen, lounge area, main with a huge ensuite and then the two twin rooms with another good size bathroom. Very comfortable for us 4 adults. Ate dinner at the restaurant which was nice too. Felt welcome and will be back

The rooms were OK (just) and largely reminiscent of a typical "motel" of the 80's era. We were only there for the "Gears and Beers Festival" so of course they jacked up the price. They didn't think through their guest requirements and open breakfast early. In fact, they had a "fault" in the kitchen on the Sunday morning and were running late. What breakfast we did mage to get was so inspiring we went off site on the Monday morning and chose to pay for breakfast rather than eat it (included) at the hotel. The shower taps / head need servicing or replacing, the amenities in the room where about the same standard as a 2-star pub's accommodation. Overall, a very cheap feel, at definitely not a cheap price. As a platinum Accor member for many years, I have a lot of experiences to compare this too, this one stands out for all the wrong reasons...

Dreadful experience. I would not stay or recommend again. Very disappointing considering I had two good nights previously in a corporate room. I stayed an additional two nights to attend a wedding, but the experience was completely different. After my initial complaint, a maintenance person attended, but no one followed up to check whether the issues had been resolved or if the room had improved. Very disappointing service. The room smelt like cats had urinated in it. Smell from the bathroom was overwhelming at night.

1. A staff member of mine was intimidated by an apparent homeless person multiple times during the middle night. When she notified the front desk, she was told that it was likely a homeless person and there are a lot around the hotel and living in the park across the road. If there is a known issue with homelessness in the area and the hotel is set up as it is where anyone can walk off the street and bang on doors, security needs to be on site during the evening to prevent the issue or adequate security measures put in place (e.g. gates). This is a serious safety concern, and my business will not be using this hotel in future because of it. This isn't the local Best Western and I expect better from a Mercure. 2. Upon check in, I was given the key and room number to someone else's room. When I entered the room, their clothes and personal items were all over the room and they were in the bathroom. This is another security issue whereby this person's security was put at risk, and I was put in a compromising position. This wasn't an issue of me going to the wrong room. The room key was set to the room I was given and it was written on the cardboard key holder. I was subsequently given a different room however this should not happen. Both incidents add up to a serious concern around personal safety and care in your hotel and I have instructed my business to refrain from using this hotel as a result of this.
