The hotel is in a prefect location to catch the ferries or trains, it’s also very close to the opera house and has great views. Check in was fine but we felt a bit judged for not having booked a breakfast in their restaurant. The room itself was very nice but there were a few hairs in places, one was even stuck to the wall. When I turned on the spa feature on the bath lots of bits of limescale and dirt came out of it. It was very off putting as the bath itself was very nice. The bed had a mattress topper on which made it very soft so bear that in mind if you prefer a firm mattress. The gym is very basic and was a bit hard to find and the lifts were constantly being used by staff to transport large items around. Apparently the staff lifts have been broken for a long time. Overall I would say that it’s not a bad hotel, the room was pleasant and the location was ideal but I don’t think it was worth the money.

We have stayed at the Pullman , a few times in the past 10 years, still excellent location, but starting too show it’s age , needs a renovation in suites, as stated in other reviews, it’s not cheap, give it a coat of paint and change old carpets , staff still very friendly.

stayed here for 8 nights love the place great location and fantastic views over the harbour, the staff were very welcoming and went out of there way for you, it was our 39th anniversary and they had left a really nice card champagne and a nice dessert which was very touching what i did like about here is it didnt feel like a hotel it felt more like an apartment so was more homely , i would defiantly stay here again, i only had one slight issue we had a late flight and asked if we could use a shower they first wanted me to pay for a room just for 4 hrs then they said if i payed $100 we could just use the shower , now this place isnt cheap to stay in so i thought they would of allowed us to use a shower without charge , we went out for the day so the room wouldnt have been used anyway so it felt a bit of a disappointment , but a part from that we loved staying there , one tip for anyone pay the extra for the deluxe it is well worth it

The jewels in the crown of the Pullman are the rooms with harbour bridge views. Nice to enjoy a wine on the balcony in the late afternoon sun and watch a cruise ship depart. Unfortunately, the gloss was taken off our stay but for some minor issues. On some of the nights we stayed the cost was over $900 a night. High standards are expected for such a price and they were not always there. For example, I reported one of the appliances as not working on the day we arrived. It had not been fixed by the time we left several days later. Tea and coffee were not always being refreshed daily. These are just two examples of several. No doubt the Pullman is having difficulty attracting staff like a lot of the hospitality industry. But it needs to put more money into staff training. With room rates of $900+ a night it should be able to afford it.

The hotel had what we sought. Location near ferries, trains and tram. Views of the Bridge and Harbour that exceeded expectations. Floorplan for our family (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom). In unit laundry was small but got the job done. Breakfast in Q Dining (see separate review) was a great way to start each day. When we returned after several days for a second short stay it felt really great to be back.
