Service Dog friendly, great location, wonderful staff, close to all transport.

If you travel with a service dog, Guide dog etc, you will feel welcomed here, and the best part is there are two grassy parks nearby for those short visits of your canine assistant. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and sized well for the price, with a great king bed and a lounge, table and chair. Bathroom is small and tight, but its functional and clean. Very close to Wynyard station, easy walk to financial centre of Sydney, or Barangaroo. Not far from the light rail for quick trips to the southern end of the cbd.

we have a short break in the city so we stayed here The hotel is older and used to be the travelodge. The staff were very pleasant and the bed was comfy along with the pillows. The bathroom was small. The breakfast area was small but offered continental and full breakfast

we traveled in Nov 2023 - I'm late on the review but thought the info needed to be shared. I booked a King accessible room for myself and my partner (wheelchair used). We were given a 'double' accessible - housekeeping make the room up with one pillow - suggesting they do not expect 2 people to sleep on this bed. I thought it was just unlucky due to the rennovation - but was told 'no' - this is the accessible rooms they now have. Beyond being a room for one person, the architecture of the room is for a ramped floor to the bathroom from the hall hall - creating what is a 'speed hump' to negotiate everytime to come in and out of the room. We were made to feel completely unwanted at the hotel and like people with a disability should not be travelling. We'd previously always booked Accor band hotels across Australia and New Zealand becuse their accessisble rooms were a good standard - we knew what we'd get and they were easy to book online. This has made me rethink.

A very poor Novotel & watch what you are charged!

We stayed at the Novotel Sydney City Centre for 6 nights in September. This was our third stay at this hotel. The first time when it was a Mercure, and the last two as a Novotel. It is not up to the Novotel standard. The location is brilliant, just across the road from the Wynyard train station. For this reason we will probably continue to use this hotel, even though we consider it not to be up to standard. Arrival and departure is very impersonal and cold. You are directed to check in/out at a kiosk. The staff do not want to interact with you at all. When we got to our room there was a pile of dirty room service dishes outside the door. Very welcoming! Fortunately the room had been serviced. The whole week we were there the hall was not vacuumed. We could see the same bits of paper, and a safety pin, which stayed on the hall floor the whole time. Room is comfortable and spacious enough. Bed fine, but the pillows are awful - very big and chunky. They give me a sore neck. Last time we stayed I asked one of the housekeeping staff for a smaller pillow. They said they couldn't provide one and I had to ask reception, which I did. It took them about 3 hours to deliver another pillow to the room. Given my experience last time, and the fact we did not arrive at the hotel until 9pm, I didn't bother with trying to get a decent pillow this time. I transferred the pillowcase from one of the huge pillows to one of the sofa cushions, which was a much better size. There should be smaller pillows in the rooms as an option. Breakfast is good. Plenty of variety. We had it included as part of my Accor Plus membership, so it was even better value. Bathrooms are tiny. Showers are good, with plenty of hot water. We checked out at 4.30am in the morning. At a kiosk, of course. On my account was a charge which was not mine. Fortunately a person from reception did show their face while I was at the kiosk. I told them there was an invalid charge on my account. They could not tell me what it was for, but tried to convince me it was something I had forgotten about. No way! I knew I had charged absolutely nothing the whole time we were there and the room was prepaid. I was in a hurry to catch a train to the airport. On my insistence they eventually said they would remove the charge, and I was told to just log out of the kiosk without paying. Back home the next day I could see that they had charged me the item anyway! Needless to say I was pretty annoyed and emailed them. About a week later, after they had put several charges on and off my credit card, the charge was finally removed for good. I was not impressed. This was our second disappointing stay at this hotel. It really does not compare to any other Novotel we have stayed at. But, as we go to Sydney fairly regularly and the location is so good, it will probably stay on our list of Sydney hotels to use.

Very close to Wynyard Station. Room was lovely and well presented. Great comfy beds. Tasty breakfast spread. Dinner menu not so good. Really appreciate the fact we got our room fews hours early on our arrival. Great storage in the room. Bathroom could have an upgrade 🤔
