What a disappointment!

What’s a disappointment! We booked an executive suite to celebrate our anniversary. The water was either cold, hot or very hot, and it was difficult to adjust. I burned my hands when hot water just came out of the tap. There were no signs on the tap wares to indicate hot or cold. There were mould all over the shower walls, around the sink hole and the shower tap. The room was badly designed with only 1 bedside table, and 1 old single leather lounge. We wonder what a classic room would be like considering the conditions of the executive room we were assigned. The good things about the hotel is it’s location and restaurant. The staff at the executive lounge was friendly.

Fabulous establishment with wonderful in house restaurant and bar. The rooftop pool is amazing. The rooms are spacious and super comfortable. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Its location is near Darling Harbor and a few doors down from the Tower! A great place to hang out in the CBD of Sydney!

Dont Expect A Good Night Sleep - The Staff Will Keep Waking You Up

Left Melbourne 4am for work. Booked Swissotel for the night. Check was suppised to be 3pm, but a number of guests were waiting 20mins or so for room to be available - not a big cincern but annoying. I crashed out at 9pm with the Do Not Disturb sign illuminated. At 10.58 a staff member Room Service was knocking in my door trying to get in. I told them I had not ordered any room service or needed anything. They still tried knovking and wanting access. The trolley looked like Mini Bar stuff, which I saw was not fully stocked. But as I was tired, annoyed at being woken up I told them a few more times to get lost (hey I was polite the first few times). When checking out Duty Manager Michelle said she would certainly find out what was going on --- no discount, no offer of free coffee. The primary purpose of a hotel is a good nights rest... Swissotel failed magnificently.

Excellent one-night stay

I needed a one-night stay away from family responsibilities and this was the perfect hotel for that (and they also happened to allow suite night upgrades via Accor). The location is amazing if you're doing any kind of shopping or going to the State Theatre, though I preferred to stay in. And it's really close to Town Hall station. Having to take 2 lifts up to your room is interesting, but not really that much hassle. I will admit that I was a bit bemused to be given a suite beside/behind the lifts. The view was wonderful though and I don't recall hearing the lifts from the bedroom at all. Room service was great, the executive club lounge was definitely worth a visit, and the pool was lovely. All in all, an excellent stay.

As a diamond member with Accor the service was very poor and it due to lack of training of their staff its disappointing that we pay so much to get a higher status and we don’t even get the service that we are paying for as a diamond member. Sofitel D/H is much better place to stay over the Swiss on market st.
