Last minute booking after a hotel issue in Cairns. We lucked out and are super impressed with the property and will certainly return here on our next visit. Lobby is spacious and from an earlier time but solidly, clean and spacious. Good check-in from Azeem and ample parking downstairs. But the room and the view! This is our third trip to Cairns and the nicest room we've had. It has clearly been refurbished recently to a very high standard and with a pretty aesthetic. Large layout, neat small balcony and hyper clean bathroom. Very impressed - we'll be back!

Decent hotel; terrible breakfast buffet

The room accommodations were quite nice and we had a balcony that faced the water. We had a major problem with the breakfast buffet and contacted the assistant manager via email to express our deep concern. I have waited for over a week and no response, no acknowledgment, no resolution. It is disappointing that a property of this caliber cares so little about its clients safety and well being.

Excellent lunch and 5 star service

We had lunch today at the Pullman Cairns International. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. I had the Popcorn Prawns as a starter and the Bug Salad as my main. Both dishes were delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff are extremely professional and friendly. Manny is an icon of the Cairns hospitality industry and after more than 30 years of service at this hotel still is the best food and beverage man in the business. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. I’ll definitely be back.

Lovely place, but don't trust the check-in.

Check-in, Thursday, with a half dozen other members of our group. "Welcome, your room and breakfast are covered for this stay, Sir. We hope you enjoy your stay." Great! Saves me from marching up the street looking for a breakfast cafe. Can't wait to try the Pullman breakfast. I did try it for the two days I was there and it was pretty good. Check-out, Saturday. "Did you enjoy your stay? Your room is covered. You just have two breakfasts to pay for. $40 each day = $80." "No, your check-in staff told me breakfast was covered, just as it is for all my friends from the same group." (Who were not charged). "No, Sir. I cannot see that. Would you like me to charge it to your card?" I yield. My card is charged. I feel ripped off and embarrassed. Conclusion. This is a very ritzy hotel. Five star, I'm sure they would give themselves. Possibly more. But the check-out experience and clear mismanagement of my booking was expensive, rude, disappointing and, frankly, off-putting. If anyone asks me .."Is the Pullman is a good place to stay?" I'll have to tell them: Buyer beware. Also the aircon fan noise in the room was excessive and annoying, even with the fan on lower speed. Two stars because I enjoyed the pool. Otherwise, nope.
