Lovely hotel stay

We took our grandchildren for a holiday in Cairns and we all loved our stay at the Pullman. The kids used the pool and we ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The meal was a bit too slow coming to us but delicious once we received it.

Don’t hesitate just book

Our flight was cancelled by Jetstar due to the outage issue worldwide and thankfully we managed to book a last minute room here. What a lucky find this turned out to be. Great room with balcony and minibar. Loved the overnight light in the bathroom what a great idea. Lots of restaurants nearby within a few minutes walk for dinner or breakfast. Had a few drinks at Hemingway Brewery as recommended in another review. Enjoyed the rooftop pool area (pool was very very cold though) where you can order food and drink via a QR code. Pool is a very good size pool with loungers and chairs. The staff here that we encountered have all been super friendly and very helpful from pool waiters to housekeeping but special mention has to go to Nichole on reception and Damon in concierge who were very accommodating. Thank you all for a very pleasant unexpected stay.

My wife and I had an overnight stay in transit to Brisbane. I stay at the Pullman Cairns at least once per month as a business traveler and I have become accustomed to excellent service from staff and a comfortable night's rest and it didn't disappoint this time either.

Christmas Holidays planned during the end of covid and was unable to travel due to the QLD restrictions and cxl in 2022 and finally made in 2023.Spending pre Christmas in Cains and our first trip this part of the country, was almost cxl again due the hurricane however we mangers to fly in and all our planned trips were cancelled due to roads being closed. The location being close to city centre was great to explore the night market and the restaurants and the bars was the only thing that we could do and the casino across the road.The hotel was great and the rooms were newly refurbished, the buffet breakfast spread was great, the lobby bar and the staff was helpful. Would come back again.

Although the property and facilities seem good, the staff is extremely discourteous. They kept on calling us and sending people to our room at odd hours under the pretext that we were "making noise", we hadnt turned on the TV and were talking softly. But the staff kept on pestering us. Not sure what the problem was and if their sound proofing system needed overhauling or not. We had to whisper and we felt we were at school not a 5 star hotel. Ironically, there was a boisterous crowd at a corporate event in the hotel throughout the night as well!!! Additionally, the housekeeping services were slow and poor. I think their staff needs a lesson in gues etiquettes !
