Disgusting restaurant meal.

We went to the restaurant only, not the accommodation. I ordered a meal written up as shoulder of lamb with salad. There were 2 long rectangular strips looking like fish fingers with salad covering them. I think it was mince that had been fried into strips. No idea what it was but revolting. The red wine was chilled, we requested a new bottle from the cellar but we were told all reds are chilled. My husband ordered sirloin and received an overcooked fillet. From memory my meal of lamb was around $40. A terrible experience all round. We did however have a very polite waiter. Please do not send me your standard apology. The time would be better spent sorting out that kitchen.

As others have said location is ok but we booked via another website not Accor and found out very quickly that you don’t get any assistance from the staff once you are asked what room number you are in, as we were in a “private” room. We were even refused a spare pool towel from reception. Went to the cafe for a coffee sorry you need to go to the pool bar. Go to the pool bar “sorry we don’t have a coffee machine here that’s in the cafe!” After this we ate out every day as I wasn’t prepared to give them our money with such a poor quality of customer service. If you have children under 13 then it’s great place to stay as the pool and adult only spa is packed with screaming busy kids enjoying themselves which is them just having fun until about 6pm then it’s really quiet once everyone heads in for dinner and the temperature drops. The main pool is freezing cold for adults and impossible to use the spa till all the kids went in for dinner after dark. Maybe if the pool temperature was warmer adults could use it too. If you are a couple and want a relaxing holiday this is not the place for you.

Disappointing private rental experience

I booked a two bedroom suite for 4 days 25/7 to 29/7. 3 People. Priced at just over $6000.00. This did not include room service or breakfast. For this price, I expect these two items, at a minimum. I gather that my booked accom was privately owned and I could not discuss this with the owners. I therefore cancelled my booking. I have been able to source better accommodation for 3K less, which includes room service and breakfast. The money was not the issue in this instance, but at an expensive resort, I expect the basics at the very least.

A most wonderful resort located a very short walk away from the main cafe and shop strip. Beach access at back of resort. Staff at check in were great - helpful and informative. The room - we stayed in a 2 bedroom plunge pool apartment- was so very nice. Comfortable beds in each bedroom , each with its own ensuite. Kitchen fully equipped including coffee pod machine. Ceiling fans , aircons, laundry and very comfortable lounge suite. Plunge pool was great though very visible from apartments above . A little bit of noise with people coming and going near the front door as we were close to the gate leading to the pool area. Only suggested improvement is that the blinds in the second bedroom could cover the full window as light from outside impacted sleep at night. Thank you for a most relaxing stay. We are already planning our return trip. Apartment serviced each day. Facilities amazing, pool bar as well as restaurant- great food. All staff so very pleasant . S

8 nights booked, 1 bedroom apartment. Wedding Anniversary. Diamond Accor member. Given a two bedroom unit, not really of benefit. Twenty minutes later we realised that the balconies were rendered useless because of it being entirely covered in ants. Probably from the canopy below that was loaded with 6 months worth of leaf litter. Advising reception was full of promises to rectify but eventually we gave up and purchased our own insecticide. 2 full cans used. Sitting on the balcony was not ever an option. Location was next door to 3 bdrm plunge pool pavilions frequented by wedding parties. 1st wedding, notice given to guests - the party went till 6 am on the adjacent terrace. 2nd wedding, no notification, the boom box started at midnight around the pool. Attempts to find a number to contact reception were nowhere to be found. Eventually calling the restaurant, only to be told there is no night reception (don’t have a heart attack!). The party moved inside the unit which was only marginally better. The pool area is lovely, but as much as I wanted to use the spa, it was never possible unless we wanted to share with toddlers in nappies, children and blow up toys and balls. There was a child’s spa, but not in use for some reason. Buffet breakfast choices fine, but always either empty or cold. You could order eggs of choice but given the time to get them, it is clearly not encouraged and rarely offered by staff. Even getting a table in the near empty restaurant was a challenge. Staff just ignored you whilst wiping down the coffee machine. Teapots are supplied to make your own tea - there are no tea bags! When the only teapot available was dirty, the waitress blamed other guests for leaving it there! My husband requested a spare toilet roll because the only one in the main bathroom was nearly empty - he was grilled by the housekeeping girl because he should have looked in the other bathroom that we were not using. Wanting a road map from reception saw me waiting for en extended period while two staff had a conversation at the end of the desk. Eventually the maintenance man came to assist. The list goes on, and at nearly $500 a night, this hotel does not deserve even the one box I have ticked. Planning on a stay, I would say ask questions about weddings, be selective with your room and speak up early in your stay because it won’t get any better if you don’t. It might if you do, maybe. Or, lower your expectations. Oh, and the internet - it is useless, others have reported it, but clearly fixing it is not a priority for the management of this hotel.
