Disappointing start to the holiday

Whist the apartment was roomy and comfortable there were a number of issues. The unit had not been cleaned well. There was mould on the curtains and toilet door, the kitchen window had not been cleaned properly, the kitchen cupboard doors had grease stains and toiletries had been left by the previous occupants on the shower screen. There were also a number of maintenance issues, including a blind that didn’t function, a shower door that didn’t close properly and several lights that didn’t work. After reporting the problems to reception the apartment was given a good clean and the blind was replaced. The other maintenance issues were not addressed.

It is disappointing to read that your stay failed to meet both your expectations of the Resort and our goal of achieving a level of excellence in accommodation and service. Your feedback regarding the general cleanliness has been brought to the attention of the Executive Housekeeper and the Maintenance Manager. Unfortunately it is apparent that we must immediately focus much greater attention to detail in our quality control. I will personally discuss your feedback with all the cleaning and maintenance staff and utilize it as a source of immediate training for those staff members who failed to uphold the standards set by us. Please trust that the management team and the staff at Mantra Amphora take pride in the work that is delivered and care for the comfort levels of all our guests. No welcome drinks for Accor members ,no Wi-Fi for 3 days when we stay 4 days ,room no clean and bed no make it ,no change bed sheets,no new towels for 3 days ....so we not happy...no make sense to be members of Accor if we can benefit of the card ..sorry

Dear JULIE THAMM, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mantra Amphora Palm Cove. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At Mantra, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Loyalty is big at Accor and I am sorry that this was not apparent to you during your stay. At Mantra Amphora we provide sparkling water as welcome drink. I will follow up with our team as to why it was not placed into the room prior to arrival. The WIFI infrastructure had suffered a major failure and the entire building distribution was down. Please trust that the team has done all they can immediately and throughout to try and get it going again but sometimes such issues are not able to be resolved quickly and without time consuming contractor involvement. The connection was not out for 3 days so I will have to check with the contractor to get more feedback on your case specifically. Please note also that with full occupancy the WIFI speed experienced can greatly vary especially since Palm Cove overall is not blessed with lightning fast internet. Telstra and Optus outages and slow speeds from the ISP, possibly also due to the overall increased usage by full hotels across Palm Cove and the region, were common in the past 10 weeks and we are unable to improve on those. It is regrettable that you were not informed by your agent of the un-serviced rates. We unfortunately only operate with un-serviced rates for quite some time where additional servicing can be arranged at extra cost. It was decided then that any additional supplies for the room is provided free of charge via reception if needed. A system that is welcomed by the majority of our guests, but I understand your disappointment if you have not been advised at the time of booking so that the choice would have been yours. We do include weekly servicing in our rates which means that housekeeping will service apartments once a week if you stay more than 8 nights with us. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Chris & Team

Spectacular location, great pool and surroundings. Walking distance to the restaurants. The only negative is that the unit we had was a little tired and needed refurbishment. The cleaning staff were excellent especially “Christina” overall a great holiday.

We stayed in a very comfortable one bedroom apartment. Would certainly recommend the ocean view apartments. Clean and tidy apartment with a very comfortable bed. The gardens and grounds were lovely with lush tropical plants.
