We’ve stayed in Cairns quite a few times (caravan parks, hotels, motels and apartments), but this was our best experience. The hotel could do with a make-over (a paint job at the very least), and double-glazed windows would have been nice, but it was still a very pleasant three-night stay. The room was huge, with a separate toilet AND a separate spa bath. The balcony was small but adequate, offering amazing views. Breakfast was delicious, with something for everyone. Best of all, the staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful. If only they’d turn the air-con down in the casino, especially at Flinders Bar & Grill. We would have eaten there again but it was so COLD (the very thing we’d come to FNQ to escape)!

Last evening we stayed at the Pullman Reef Hotel at Cairns. Due to a flight delay we never arrived at the hotel until about 8.30pm. I might say that we were mentally and physically exhausted. Thankfully, with the assistance of hotel staff, we found our way to a neighbouring Italian restaurant and had some dinner. We arrived back at the hotel at 9.30pm and went to bed as we had to be awake by 4am for a 7am flight to Melbourne. Imagine my surprise and anger this evening when I received an email from the hotel advising me that we had consumed $28.50 from the mini bar that had not been paid for. I immediately telephoned the hotel and expressed my annoyance and displeasure at the situation, as the claim/allegation was completely untrue. I was told by Frederica that this was standard practice at the hotel, in an attempt to find the relevant former customer i.e. a process of deduction. SO, what was a pleasant stay at a quality hotel in Cairns has been tarnished by the sloppiness of hotel staff in an attempt to recover $28.50 from the WRONG person.

Over Priced, Noisy, Smells. Spend your money elsewhere.

Check in was poor. Didn’t explain how the pre purchased parking worked. Had to hit the help button at parking lot. Was given no directions for when hoping off elevator from parking lot to get to our room. Luckily a lovely security guard showed us the way. Room had a weird smell when we checked in. If you are a light sleeper wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Was on 4th floor and the road noise is so ridiculous I barely got any sleep. Wife and I had to remake the bed because it was made so poorly that the sheet was barely reaching over end of the mattress. Conditioner bottle was dead empty in shower. Expect better from a 5 star that charged us $422 a night.

Checked into room 714. Nice room with good views. Unfortunately the aircon for the entire hotel is above the room - sounds like a dishwasher going constantly. However, they moved us the next day to a similar room 1 floor down and it was perfect. Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly and helpful and that is what makes a great hotel. The pool area is good as well. And they have live entertainment some nights

the hotel was a great place , room was OK on the surface, however we were placed on the third floor (effectively ground floor ) the room was located opposite their other hotel across the road directly opposite , although the room was OK size wise , the floor location turned out to be very noisy , from various causes, 1. There is a car park exit directly outside our room and as any car exits it runs over two metal plates and creates an extremely loud double metallic clanging noise it stops around 1 am but on busy social nights it horrendous between 7 till 11, as the area around this location is a popular playground , you will hear the local ferrals screaming loudly up to around 1 am , and we were sleeping with ear plugs , the condition of the room left a lot to be desired and was filthy especially the verandah , totally unable to sit out there and enjoy what we paid for ,(we eventually had to ask the front desk to attend to it , they only just did the minimum) our thoughts are as we booked through LE's , for a deal , we think that the chain (as well as others) give their unfurbished rooms to these third party operators ( this is only our thoughts as this has happened at other venus ) we stayed for a week and persevered . But on the day we were to fly home , for unrelated reasons we had to stay another 5 days , and could not get the same deal so we negotiated a new price , and told them we could not stay in the same room and although dearer we went to the 7 th floor (top) in a much larger room it was noticeably cleaner but not really much quieter , this is the casino hotel so it has its benefits , but you can find yourself in the pokies and gambling areas far to conviently , the breakfast area was strangely located in the walkway to the casino , so there wad always people just walking through whilst you trying to eat ??? Breakfast menu was ordinary after a week eating the same stuff with very little options , coffe was good . On the plus side the doorman Mathew was above excellent as was a few other front of house staff. So if you stay there , be aware and ask for a room off the road and up higher , and also be aware that their sister hotel across the road seemed to be a slightly better class of hotel for the same price so don't get mixed up do your home work
