I arrived late on the 16th - August and was given room 3706 but when I went up, my key card didn’t open the door, the bellman was right behind and showed up. He opened the door with his master key but we saw luggage in the hallway of room 3706. Apparently there was a guest still in the room. I was subsequently assigned to room 3705 and well maintained during my stay. A few of staff where our group had breakfast were polite.

Breakfast was the weakest part of an otherwise 5-star stay. The spread leaned heavily on local deep-fried items, with insufficient international options — no fresh toast/bread station. There were 3–4 salad dressing options, but most were mayonnaise-based; due to my diet, the only one I could use was the oil-and-vinegar option, and it turned out to be spicy, leaving no plain dressing suitable for me. Compared to other Sofitel properties I've stayed at (Guangzhou, Shanghai Hongqiao), the breakfast quality here fell noticeably short — I'd rate it around 2 stars against a property that is otherwise 5 stars in every other respect (rooms, pool, location, service). Would appreciate a broader Western/international selection and a plain, non-spicy oil-and-vinegar dressing option to match Sofitel's standard elsewhere.

Generally this hotel has a clean room, nice city view, comfortable bed and pillows. They have nice shower, good amenities, and excellent services There are 2 downside that need to be improve. 1. Air conditioning system in the room is bad. It won’t get colder and during my stay, it was humid and rainy. I tried to adjust the temperature many times after midnight with no better results. This is making my stay uncomfortable. Our groups of 12 people booked many rooms (4 from my own team and 5 more from other team), we experienced the same results. 2. Lack of meat selection during the breakfast, egg station is slow and lack of basic egg selection (such as poaches egg, egg Benedict) that can be found in other Accor properties. The fried egg or scramble egg must be on request and very slow (my request was denied once as the cooking staffs were busy with fried tomatoes). The breads and croissants quality are below other Sofitel or even Novotel in other cities. The pork sausage quality is not up to the standard. The meat is salty and tough. The sauce and butter selection are limited.

As a devoted Accor loyalist this year, I was genuinely excited to finally experience the Sofitel brand for the first time. Unfortunately, this stay left me a little heartbroken, as it didn't quite live up to the expectations I've come to associate with Accor properties. To start, communication with the front desk staff was a challenge, which made simple requests feel more difficult than they should have been. The air conditioning was also underperforming, though this alone was something we could look past in the interest of enjoying our stay. What was truly hard to accept, however, was experiencing a power outage on our final day that lasted almost half a day. A brief interruption of a few minutes would have been completely understandable, but an outage stretching for hours at a five-star property is difficult to overlook. As someone who deeply values the Accor family of brands, I had hoped my introduction to Sofitel would reflect the same standard of excellence I've enjoyed elsewhere in the group. Sadly, this first impression fell short of that bar.

The room was excellent, located on a high floor with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep. Check-in was smooth and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised when a Thai-speaking staff member greeted me, which made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. The service throughout my stay was outstanding, especially in the lounge. Having Thai-speaking staff available made communication easy and created a warm, friendly atmosphere. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and memorable stay.
