Stayed here for two nights in September, it was cheaper to book directly than using In terms of location it’s incredibly central, just across the road from Edinburgh Waverley station, however for subsided parking you need to park at the Omni car park which is around a ten minute walk away. It is right on Princes street which is where there’s a lot of shops and it’s a short walk to the Royal Mile. The communal areas of the hotel, including the bar/restaurant are lovely and kept to a really high standard. The rooms themselves are a little tired and although they’re clean could benefit from being brought up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. We had breakfast included and that was lovely. Would definitely stay here again on a future visit.

My mother and I began our first trip to the UK in Edinburgh. We stayed two nights at the Mercure Edinburgh City Princes Street Hotel. The location is directly across from Scott Monument and is perfectly situated for easy access Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Palace of Holyrood, Our room was very comfortable and had a view of the city facing the castle. The buffet breakfast was great and had many options to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Central location. Comfortable bed and good pillows. Thats the good bit. Otherwise it's like walking into a time warp back to 1973. Bathroom was awful, tired, dirty paint, black mould around the bath. Stains on the grey lino floor which looks like it was left over from a hospital refit. Bedroom furniture would have been dated in the 80s. I travel to Edinburgh regularly. This was my first and last stay at the Mercure. There are so many better options.

Can't say enough about this stay....Great location for seeing all of Edinburgh. Superior rooms. Lovely atmosphere and quirky artwork. Super friendly staff! The breakfast choice is incredible too. All round beautiful stay at this wonderful hotel. Can't wait to visit again 👍

The only good thing we can say about this hotel, is the location. In the heart of edinburgh with waking distance from nearly everything. Parking was off site, 10 mins walk, with a 15 pound ticket per night with a validated ticket from the hotel. Prior to check in, there was no street frontage, drop off or loading zone to unpack luggage. Had to park in a paid parking location around 1/2 mile walk with all luggage around the corner. No cooler or heater in the rooms meaning we had to open our windows, but this was so so loud all night long. No sleeping because of ambulances, trams, and yelling all night. The state of the bathroom, was atrocious. Shower heads were leaking, mold all over, and soap bottles falling off the walls. Everything requires repair and maintenance!
