The hotel was very dated and could have done with a good clean throughout. As we were on a coach trip, we were ushered into a small dining area, and two members of staff served us a choice of two meals, all of which were very below standard. And plates were served cold, didn’t enjoy it at all. Would not return to this hotel. One member of staff was on reception when we arrived, then served us dinner and then was behind the bar in the evening.

Lovely historic hotel in a good location but quite run down and in need of a good clean. The breakfast is very good though and parking is very accessible; at present the hotel houses homeless people too and although the majority were friendly there were some that hung around the hotel drinking and smoking drugs which is very off putting when you are trying to enjoy a hotel break, also the keycards for the hotel room constantly stopped working; the channels on the tv in the room were very adequate but the room itself needed repairs and cleaner curtains.

Fadedsled TripAdvisor review

Have you ever been in a hotel room where everything just felt so dusty, greasy and dirty that you did could only fall to sleep in your clothes on top of the bed? This was that hotel. There was mould and hair in the shower, flaking paint on the walls, stains on the duvet, dust on every surface, mould in the windows, flies in the lamps - disgusting. The sad thing is that on checking in they said it was good we were in the "new" section. I complained and they said they would "Speak to housekeeping". This went far beyond housekeeping, and I have complained to Accor, but have not had any response.

The room was horrendously cold, decor really needs updating as well. The windows were thin and could hear lots of sounds which woke me up several times in the night. Could hear other guests walking around and banging doors shut. When staff were told, there was no care or sympathy given. Will not be staying again.
