The Mercure Swansea is a little way from the concert venue at The Miners' Welfare at Ystrafgynlais but I thought it would be worth the extra distance. And so it proved. On entering the retail park, I followed the signs to Hotel and fortunately these led to the Mercure. Helpful staff on Reception and a jolly chap on the bar in the evening.

This is a nice hotel situated in a business park but next to a small park with lake. Not far from the Liberty Stadium and was very handy for visiting my family in Morriston. Plenty of parking (you need to register your car at reception when checking-in). Can’t comment on the food as I was out with family but the menu looked fine. I stayed here two years ago and used the pool but didn’t bother this time as it is not really a ‘swimming’ pool. I stayed for 5 nights and as a woman on my own felt comfortable and secure.

Easy to check in and helpful staff. Good breakfast and adequate room. Hotel is showing it's age and needs some money spending to refresh it. Not easy if income is limited following a pandemic. Junior bar staff could do with some training.

Reception working hard to use new booking in system and very apologetic for hold up which was really not that long. Room clean and comfortable, restaurant was pleasant and food served was quite acceptable. Breakfast self serve but plenty to choose from, staff very friendly.

We stayed in 125 and were overheated by the sun coming through the windows. We used the fan that was provided but unfortunately the noise did not help much, it ruined my sleep . We checked to see if the heating had been left on, it hadn't. An air-conditioning unit would really helped !!

Room adequate and functional . Well equipped and very comfy bed. Breakfast booked at 6.45 but not out in the list so rather annoying but allowed to stay and excellent food .

The hotel staff were very nice the rooms were nice apart from the windows which was very hard to open and the carpets we’re smelly and stained which were not nice to look at at night I had to put Vicki’s up my nose I am Asthmatic so I needed to use my Asthma pump more frequently the pool was great the hotel needed to update the floors all over the hotel it’s very smelly I did report it at reception as it was so bad.

Check in was very quick. Food and bar service was excellent. Very friendly staff. We went for walks along the lake which was very close by.

The bar area and restaurant look really nice, all staff very nice but I think the quality of the food has gone right downhill, we’ve stayed here a few times and eaten in the restaurant on each occasion, the food just wasn’t very good for the price.

Stayed three nights in a disabled room with breakfast. Evening meal first night very good. Breakfasts -good selection of food but not too fresh. Room window didn't fully close. Bathroom a little difficult to use for a disabled person, for instance no seat at wash basin and mirror too high. Overall happy to come again.
