Experience was ok could have been better, ac was broken in our room and no shower gel in bathroom. Mentioned it to reception but nothing was done to correct this unfortunately. Lots of ants in our room 252. We also had room 150 this was ok but lots of noise as room walls are very thin.

Apart from the early check in challenge the air conditioning in the room was not working and the TV would not work

Really disappointed at our stay here. I had booked for a night away for me and my daughter for her birthday. We had planned a few hours in the leisure facilities and the steam room was out of order and the jacuzzi cut out. The lounge beds were old hard plastic and just impossible to relax on. The paint was peeling off the walls and the changing rooms were awful. The room was tired and not like the picture advertised when I booked, the shower had no pressure and kept going hot and cold, there was no fridge to keep drinks cool and in 23 degrees yesterday there wasn’t as much as a fan in sight!! We tried to get room service but no one answered. The whole experience really spoilt the birthday treat. Wanted to complain this morning but there were no staff on reception when we left. So disappointed and upset. This hotel is definitely NOT 4 star!!!

Hi Emma, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry to hear that the hotel did not meet your expectations. The jacuzzi is on a timer so will go off after 60 minutes but will come back on after 10 minutes. Given your feed back I have now adjusted the timer so that it is only a 5 minute break. In regards to your room, if you could email me directly steve.gilbert@mercurechester.co.uk with your room number I would be happy to look into it further as all our superior and privilege rooms should have fridges in them.
