I stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding nearby. It was about £120 for a one night. The staff were friendly, the free parking was easy and overall decent value. Overall though, it felt dated to me. The room smelled of stale smoke. The double bed was adequately comfortable and I slept well with the window open, but I was surprised by the lack of aircon and I couldn’t see a lift or sign for a lift. The management clearly try but the age of the building just shows (eg there are usb sockets but not by the bed, where you actually need them). It was a comfortable enough night but not the sort of hotel I enjoy spending time in. It feels due a major refit or a rebuild.

No hot water and really noisy

We held our wedding here over the weekend, started with check in on Friday, swimming with the kids (pool lovely and warm and clean) followed by a private dinner. We had the new spring menu and the food was all so lovely and fresh. The wedding day went perfectly Howard and the team really looked after us and we couldn't have asked for a better day, the food was amazing and all the guests commented on it. Everyone slept well, the rooms were lovely and clean and the staff are really friendly. Breakfast was delicious also. The venue is really perfect for weddings, the set up of the rooms means the day just flows really nicely, the gardens are stunning for photographs and the kids loved running about burning off a bit of energy before the wedding breakfast.

Keys didn’t work and reception staff unapologetic. Smoke alarm in corridor active all night and no hot water in the morning. Staff offered no apology, simply saying they knew!
