Stayed at this hotel for second time to go to chester races. Excellent location as bus into Chester 100 yes down the road. Hotel very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast excellent. Will be back again next year, for the races and maybe for some Xmas shopping this year

photos where deceptive. Not as nice as it appeared, not exceptionally clean. Pool left a lot to be desrired and wasn't particularly clean or nice.

Good location. Hotel was "OK" at a push

2 night stay. The hotel looked ok from the exterior but the room we had was very dated in need of a refresh. The flooring had seen better days for sure. The bed was comfortable, but the room was very warm, despite having the windows open as far as we could and the fan on. Would not be good at all in very warm weather. The bathroom looked tired. The water pressure in the shower was awful. The breakfast on the first morning was just OK. Looks like there were a lot of wedding guests in from the night before and the kitchen did not appear to have factored in extra volume, so several items on the cooked breakfast were running very low or missing altogether. the breakfast on the 2nd morning was much better. A word to the chef though.....the black pudding was so thinly sliced it was hard to even cut, let alone eat. At check out I was asked how much I had to pay (not had that happen before), so seems additional training for the staff may be needed. At check in I was asked if I wanted to purchase breakfast, which I had already done. The classic though was on switching on the TV in the room, I was greeted with a welcome message for a Mr Gerry White. Lets just say I am not Gerry White! :-)

Sallymoon2018 TripAdvisor review

Lovely clean room with complimentary freshly laundered gowns and towels and nice bathroom supplies. Coffee machine with courtesy pods and an a mini fridge with courtesy bottled water and soda drinks. Unable to order food between 7 pm and 8pm due to a large party. We decided to eat in the bar area and ate an evening meal of shared ‘sides’ from the menu and found this to be basic at best; would recommend ordering food from one of the delivery apps and eat in hotel room (which we observed other guests doing), wished we had done the same! The bar ‘ran out’ of all draught lagers by 7pm. Friendly staff and a good selection at breakfast.
