Not great for dogs - dog friendly hotel?

So booked this hotel for the night as dogs are allowed and as we had a birthday to go to. Us and two other rooms was booked and both the classic double rooms. The room we was shoved in was a small double bed, no dog bowls or anything for dogs (Adding bowls in or something for dogs if you are a dog friendly hotel would be a nice finish for the price of it) The other two rooms who did not bring dogs, had a huge bed and lovely rooms, even though we all paid the same base price, for the extra they charge for pets, I think it is an absolute joke. Breakfast was nice but having to walk through the whole hotel to get this as dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room was a bit annoying - Do not be dog friendly if there are strict rules on dogs in your hotel!

The water system was noisy every time next door ran a tap/toilet.. Observations: The person who attached the soap/shampoo dispenser must have been left handed so when I tried to use it the soap spilled over on to the floor not the bath. Try it and you will see what I mean. Overall it was better than the hotel I paid more for. I didn't use any services but could have been offered a luggage porter.

Excellent wedding venue and hotel

I don’t know where to start. We originally booked our wedding at a different venue and they weren’t getting back to us, we were frantically looking around as we wanted to keep the date, and that is when we came across Mercure (specifically Rochelle) who is the wedding coordinator. Rochelle promptly put at ease and we choose a wedding package. We were able to personalise this and add on or take off what we needed to make it exactly as we wanted it and there was no pressure to add anything on. Myself and my new husband cannot thank Rochelle and all of the staff at Mercure for making our wedding absolutely perfect. Rochelle answered every email promptly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Rochelle ensured that all the vendors were on time and took a lot of the stress of myself for the day. We opted to have the sharing boards for our wedding breakfast which was alot more relaxed than a formal 3 course meal - the food was fantastic and everybody enjoyed it! Rochelle was keen to make sure everything was just right and nothing was out of place. The day itself ran so smoothly and Rochelle and her team were on hand from morning right the way through to late in the evening reception. The morning of the wedding myself and the bridesmaids were given complimentary access to the conference suite and brought lovely hot fresh pastries and Prosecco and Orange Juice. We all booked rooms at the hotel which everyone was completely happy with and the all you can eat breakfast was lovely. If anyone is looking for a venue for their wedding I would recommend Mercure every single time. From reception staff, to bar staff, caterers the whole experience was 10/10. Once again, thankyou for making our special day one to remember for all of the right reasons.
