A very disappointing stay in Mercure Piccadilly. Dated hotel in definite need of refurbishment, air conditioning pushing out hot air in the first bedroom; air conditioning not working in the second one we were moved to. Both showers leaking. Staff said all the right things when we complained but did very little. Had to be chased each time. I think we had 6 complaint conversations in total during our 3-night stay. Great shame - it's in a good, central location and the on-site parking was super helpful. Despite the partial refund, we will not be staying here again!

Stayed over here for a concert and was not impressed at all, I’d say the rooms are over priced and I feel like I was robbed when I went for dinner here and the food took over an hour to come and there weren’t many people in there at all, the cocktails where £9 each on the menu which is pretty standard but when I was told they didn’t have the ingredients for the cocktail I ordered (mojito) I was asked what I would like instead, I then ordered a pornstar martini for myself and my partner, then at the end I went to pay and they charged me £29 for those two drinks which is absolutely disgusting and the drinks where awful too, I asked why the price was so high and not the same price as the one I ordered for the menu and I was told that it’s because the menus are old and don’t have the new cocktail prices on, i made a complaint and they offered to ‘upgrade our room’ as they couldn’t offer me any sort of refund, the room they ‘upgraded’ us too was a much smaller room with a much smaller bed than the room we originally had. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I certainly wouldn’t recommend eating here

The inconsistency in pricing and the poor quality of the drinks you received are not reflective of the standards we strive to maintain. I also apologize for the inadequate resolution to your complaint. Offering an "upgrade" to a smaller room with a smaller bed was not appropriate, and I understand why you felt further disappointed. So we always stay here when we come to see my daughters who are in uni at Man Met Uni. It was graduation time to celebrate. Was so happy to see the hotel has had a refurb which was lovely. However, the staff when returning to The bar that apparently closes at 12 were so rude. Shutting at 11.15 as they “wanted to”. Then brought the manager up who accused one of our party for swearing before retracting his statement. It’s a shame! We will not be stepping a foot back in there for sure!!!

We are pleased to hear that you appreciated the recent refurbishment of our hotel. However, we are deeply sorry to learn about your recent experience at our bar. It is unacceptable for our staff to close the bar earlier than the advertised time and to be rude to our guests. Additionally, we regret the misunderstanding and the accusation made by the manager, which added to your frustration. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we will address these issues with our team to ensure such incidents do not happen in the future. I've never once complained about a hotel but I feel I can't not say anything about this one. I'm stunned that this is a 4 star. It's advertised as a modern-looking luxury hotel which definitely isn't cheap to book.. Turns out the majority of the building is outdated. The main reason for my complaint though is because of the lack of hygiene in the bathroom and also slow response from the staff... The bathroom was completely different to the advertised photo and honestly you can get a better one at a budget hotel. When we got into the room immediately I saw multiple clumps on dust/hair on the floor of the bathroom. When inside I could see dust and dirt on surfaces, hairs stuck to the wall, wall crumbling away, strange splashes down the side of the bath and faulty equipment. The room was advertised as having a double bed & sofa bed. There wasn't a sofa bed in the room, which was odd in itself. On admit to the hotel I asked for the sofa bed to be brought in. An hour or so later I went down to collect a delivery and asked again, and the staff said they would come up straight away. I then went out and upon returning at nearly midnight, the sofa bed still wasn't anywhere to be seen.. So I asked again at reception, with no apology for the inconvenience and was told to give them five minutes and they'd be up. There was one lady on the desk (I don't know her name) who was very lovely about the situation and apologised when she came up with the bed, saying that she had told house keeping staff the first time I asked and they hadn't done anything. But she was the only person that seemed bothered about the situation. I also haven't received an email since I left the hotel with a link to feedback, and I can't find a way to directly send Mercure a review, hence my review on here... So overall a very underwhelming stay, think I'll just get the Travelodge over the road next time.
