Dear Richard, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Nottingham City Centre George Hotel. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. With regards to how rooms are allocated. The time prior to the date of arrival bares no relevance to how we allocate a room. Upon arrival we look at arrival rooms for check in at that point in time and a room is allocated from the rooms available. I am sorry should the room chosen for you not have been to your liking. I can see you had chosen to book one of our smallest room grades, a Standard King. Standard Kings are considered one of our two smallest room grades with our City Pad rooms being larger. Should the room not have been to your liking, shortly after checking in we welcome any guest coming to speak to us should they not be satisfied for any reason. Our team would have been delighted to see if an alternative vacant room of the same room category was available for you to view and to see if it was to your liking. Our team are more than happy to help where possible and I am sorry we did not have this opportunity. I apologise for any discomfort experienced from the mattress. I thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will immediately have this checked to see if a replacement is required. I apologise once again. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. In January we are starting our complete hotel refurbishment which will be a 100% refurbishment once completed later in the year. I very much hope we can welcome you back to experience this.
