The Property is quirky with history and great location, good parking. The apartment we had was a fantastic design, my parents really enjoyed their King Spa room in the hotel section. One big issue was that the guests staying in the apartment next to us were very noisy, having a rave party at 3:00am until 6:45am. We believe about 10 people at least, swearing, wall vibrating on our bedroom and loud voice calls from guests going out for smoking at 5am in the morning, if they are even guests. Understand that nothing really can be done but staff, but caution for other guests. Disappointing as most of the other aspects of the property were good, parking, facilities, room and staff.

Handy to the main streets , Grand Hotel, RSL and River. Josh at reception was very friendly and helpful . Old style above the Pub rooms was spacious, dark and dated. ( room 201) Requires new pillows, would stay again

We did not get to stay because of covid restrictions. Disappointed we couldn't get a refund, only a credit for 12 months. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but this was part of an extended vacation & we might not be able to arrange again.
Wendy-Sue M, The only way this can happen is if at the time of booking you have chosen the heavily discounted, pre-paid and non-refundable rate as opposed to the Flexible Rate. This is very clearly stated in the booking terms and conditions. Absolutely disgraceful on your behalf to post this review. Clay Storer General Manager

Nice old building in the heart of town. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Had a quaint little lift which was original and interesting, quite squeezy for the two of us and luggage. Overall the complex is big and some walking was required and also parking was tight. Room was spacious, plenty of space for a king bed which could be a good standard option. Bed & pillows were comfy. Hallway was noisy and early risers interrupted the sleep in we desired. The restaurant was pleasant and the staff there quite engaging and friendly. Service will be marked down due to the poor (or no) effort of staff in recognizing my loyalty club status level. No welcome drinks, no room upgrade (or apology for not being able to provide one). These are the very basic parts of the tier I am on. Other Mercure hotels have done the above and more at times.
