Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and well equipped. Arrival gifts were nice and well chosen. Restaurant is very good. If you are up for desert, have the smashed pavlova. The fruit sorbet is divine. They also have a less formal bar eatery with a good range of pizzas. Hotel within walking distance of the town centre, American River is a fantastic location.

The lodge facilities are tired looking but the rooms were clean and functional. The bathroom in our room as brand new. Restaurant A La Carte food was good but very over priced. Bar food is ok but just pizza or burgers. The pool was no go as is not heated. The lodge has a captive audience for food as there are no other options for miles , hence the expensive price. Last thing for me is both me and my wife got diaorrea on our last day. Can’t prove it but I think there is something wrong with the water. Tasted like chemicals oh also there was a power cut on last day no lights , hot water or cooked breakfast. Staff were nice though.
